QFT. If it wasn't for a select few that aren't on the other thread I wouldn't have a reason to ever come back to HT.

This thread really went to ****.

Okay... so you guys know those square pads that the rear glass touches when the rear window is down?

Anyone know the part number for that? I've checked the Honda catalogs and I can't seem to find it in any of the diagrams.

Quiet noob. This thread is for Honda del Sol owners, lovers, and fans. The people in here ask questions, share expertise, and show off their cars. If you don't like it then by all means....

The black del sol that everyone has "quoted" looks riced out to me.

Who cares about a color on a valve cover? to you, because that was just a poor excuse for a comeback. Was it your car I was talking about? If not, shut up.

Oohhh, she bites back. You're not getting any of my beer when we go toobing.

Yes, the carbon-fiber sol is a bit ricey. Doesn't it have lambo doors? Even so, it's still a sol and IIRC the guy has had to make quite a few custom parts so at least he's contributing to the community. I would never want to own it but I would totally rock that pink one so my opinion probably doesn't count for much.

Psh, biting back is just the start of it and fine, I see how it is. Chump.

I understand that he's done quite a bit of work with fabrication and such, on that sol. But it just isn't my style. I'd still give him respect due to the fact that he's put a lot of work into it and just because I'd never drive/own it, doesn't mean it's not worth something to him.

Oh and about that pink, I had thought about doing my valve cover in deep, hot pink... maybe I should so you won't make anymore smartass comments about it.

PM Sent.

On a more sol related note, I recently installed a "tail light flasher" relay for my 3rd brake light. Living in the land of lifted trucks I often fear being rear-ended while sitting at red lights. Now while I hold the brake down it will flash on/off for 5 seconds, go solid for 5 seconds, flash for 5 seconds and so on. While looking in my rear-view mirror I can tell that it attracts lots of attention which means it's doing it's job.

Oh, duh. Here's the link: http://www.customdynamics.com/signal..._modulator.htm

I got the XP version and it's really easy to install. I just put the unit in where the dome light is. If I have time (and if people are interested) I can make/post a little video. I seriously think that every sol owner should install one.

I went to a local Honda meet yesterday at the track and I think I was the only del Sol there lol. It was a big event the track was hosting so we went there to chill and some fellow members ran their car down the track. My del Sol was snapped in 2 pictures, woohoo! We rode in a big caravan to get there and here's my Sol.

I also finished up my interior late last night like around 1:30am and put the panels back on this afternoon. Everything was done by me including the shiftboot and ebrake boot. I bought the fabric at a local store and I payed $9 bucks for 2 yards. I polished the inside up today and snapped a few pics.

I'd try and smooth out those wrinkles a little bit. What adhesive did you use?

yeah its pretty noticeable. What fabric did you use? I was going to try to find some of that fake leather / vinyl material . its thicker and less likely to wrinkle.

Yea I tried to, but the fabric I have is crappy and doesn't stretch so the speaker panels don't look the best. I also think I used the wrong grade adhesive because it kinda soaked through the fabric and now it just has a dark blue spot in some areas. The adhesive is 3m and the level is 80.

I bought the fabric at a local crafts store that sells a bunch of stuff and fabric. The fabric itself feels pretty cheap like window curtain material. Leather or vinyl type material would be much better I think because it's thicker, the glue wont soak through, and as you said it would be less likely to wrinkle.

___________

However, this was my first time doing interior wrapping so it was a good learning experience for me. I didn't try to rush through it so I took about 3 days to finish everything. I'll let this fabric slide for a few weeks, but I'm 100% positive I'm going to find some better non cheapy material and do it right since I want my Sol to look top notch.

Sounds like you need a thicker/better quality fabric if the adhesive soaked through.

I'd get a blue tweed, or similar material to Type-R door panels only in blue obviously.
