exactly why i love turbos... can be made for almost any type of racing, and nothing beats the sound of a spoolin turbo combined with the look of an intercooler with bull horns hiding behind it

Why not a z6 or y8 turbo? Those are good for about 200-225whp with a stock engine.

Yeah but generally swapping a b-series in then turboing it will be a lot more expensive than just turboing a Z6/Y8

wray, how much have you put into your setup so far? and what all have you bought? pm me if its too "juicy" to put up in the thread because its still not guaranteed that my friend can get me a decent c5, so if that falls through, it will be turbo z6 time

oh jeeze, uhh lets see, so I traded my old wheels for a tapped oil pan, turbo, cash, and some other stuff, $400 for brand new log mani, downpipe, and integrated dump tube.. $200 for my brand new TiAL wastegate, $330 for intercooler, piping, and a new GReddy type s, uhh what else.. I think thats mainly the basics.. I still need oil lines, injectors, base mapped ecu, gauges and other small stuff.. so Id say around $1g thus far (if I actually paid for a turbo) lol.. got my clutch for christmas, so im pretty close.. hopefully after I sell my 96-97 front and another thing someone is supposed to pick up soon, then I should be good to go.. I'll be in close to around $1500 or so once I get it all in and tuned.. totally worth it if you ask me.. but a setup could be had for alot cheaper if you get used parts, or get more deals than I got.. .

~$50-oil lines
~$50-injectors
~$150-ecu
~$100-gauges
all that and I'll be good to go.. so ~$1500 and I'll be around 230whp, or get a b16 for ~$3k(?) and have an incredible 140whp
