I wouldn't want to even attempt tow anything with any honda car.

Washed my baby for the first time since I got back. It was nice how much wax was still on it. I forgot I had only driven it like four times since I waxed it.

Hey guys, I've been reading this thread for a couple months and need a bit of help (if you wouldn't mind, of course).

I'm in the market for a del sol, and I've found 2 that I'm interested in. I guess I just need a bit of advice, I just graduated college and this will be the first car I've ever bought and owned myself...and the first car i've had in 4 years. This will be my daily driver, and as I live in Brighton/Boston, MA, I won't be doing anything to the motor. My only plans are coilovers and a Glass Targa, that's about it. Here's what I've got to work with:

Car #1: Red 93 Del Sol, I think it's an Si. 1.6l vtec, manual, si wheels, 103k. All the belts, water pump, and some gaskets were replaced 10k ago. The body isn't super clean, it's got paint bubbling on the rear quarters above the wheels and on the bottom of one door with rust underneath all of the spots. Interior is clean though. She wants $3500, blue book is around $2800, I'm assuming she'll only go to about $3100.

Car #2: White 94 Del Sol, Automatic. Base model. 93k, not sure on upkeep, but super clean inside and out (no rust or bubbling, typical dings but no dents). They want $2900, which is about blue book, maybe $100 less...but I'm willing to pay that for a clean car.

I'm just looking for some help I guess. I've never had an automatic car as a DD, but I think it will keep me from throwing tons of money into it and keeping it a simple, clean daily. As I've never had a car but always been into them, I'm worried I might get caught up and put a ton of money into whatever I get. Plus, I think with the clean white car, I could always swap a tranny with a motor if I get into building it later on. I'm leaning towards car #2, with some suspension and a glass top. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't buy either, I would wait until I found a clean manual transmission si or vtec.

up here that's really hard to get for less than $5k, and I really only have $3k :/

I've looked at 5 or 6 del sol's already, and they all have some small amount of rust, or bubbling. it seems the only ones that get garaged are automatic! I do agree with you, waiting is the best option, it's just getting hard to get rent payed without a car (i work for myself, and traveling out to clients/suppliers would do wonders for my income).

Well this would be my choice of the two since this one is cleaner body wise. Seeing how body work is aways a bitch and super expensive if done right.
Personally with your last paragraph I feel like your having to talk yourself into buying it so I would say keep looking till you find that car that you have to have.
I mean your looking for the right things but just wait there will be somthing that you just cant say no to.

I think ultimately I really want a clean, manual model with around 100k, you're right. However, in the past 4 months it's been super slim pickings, so I'm leaning towards the white car as well, pending going to see and test drive it. I think the clean shell is the most valuable right now, esp. since I have little to no way of fixing rust or paying to have it fixed. when I need a bigger car, I'll have this to do whatever I want with and make a fun weekend car, swap motors, whatever. It's very important that I don't go overboard with mods once i get it, and I feel like the auto will really keep that in check for me. I have little to no self control when there's money in my bank account

I'm going to keep looking too (del sol's in the tri state area, if anyone knows of one local to them!). thanks for your input guys, it's nice to be welcomed with answers. yall have some beautiful cars!

Yeah, spoiler is getting painted. I didn't mount it, just testfit.

Rebuilt my 97 S cluster and 93 VTEC cluster into a 97 VTEC cluster.

Wanted to keep the gray background because of the silver car, and also wanted to keep my gas light.

Anyone got the Hook up on roof seals? It's raining and my seats are soaked, I think they failed completely during the Spring, it's almost always in the garage, but the Rain got lucky today.

Which seals? The seals on the sides of the targa?

Did you grease the seals with shin-etsu grease?
Have you tried the washer trick to tighten the roof?

No such thing as a 93 VTEC cluster.
