i think in the post that you quoted he said it was his homie's cars not his
i'm guessing 42 psi and not referring to a gt42R. Also not sure what's typeR about it either...looks like an EG so not an EK9 CTR replica. Maybe the motor/trans is from a Type R but doubt theres anything type R left it in besides the stamp on the block

ya thats obviously not a street car and full track car.

you're really doing the apples and oranges things but to each its own i guess.

I'm personally more impressed by a 9 or even 8 second SFWD honda but maybe thats just me. It just seems harder to do so more of an accomplishment. The SFWD is a heated, competitive and exciting class.

The current record holder I believe...tony palo T1

thats not even the fastest time...just the first time/first one in the 8s

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMnNKgk-uXg

then to back it up in the finals to win 10K

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqOZt3aUbsY

then the fastest...8.90 @ 169

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iur9WD2pBQg

he's my hero. the engineering and development that goes into the cars is incredible and thats what I admire.

maybe i'm just a fan cause I grew up around it which can be said for the other side as well.

and to keep it sol related and for you Nick whenever you decide to get that STi but miss and regret selling the sol

http://s632.photobucket.com/albums/u...t=MOV00379.flv

probably wasn't the best idea to post my slow vid after vids of an 8 sec car lol

Oh and also still working on details for IA. If you're interested lmk and i'll keep u posted

i put my resume into the red cross for phlebotomy, it pays $16 an hour, and since i have no bills to pay because i still live at home, i could easily afford an STi...now i have to graduate so i can start working more. bluhh.

Will you were spraying =P

Idk i think Sti's suit me more, i live on a dirt road, i like playing in the mud. i like AWD. and i like being able to have more than 1 person with me. My friend has an Evo and i love it, not really something you can take off road, but its the same principals. ive also got quite a few friends that work at Subaru dealerships that get parts for ridiculously cheap. The honda scene sucks in maine anyway... what are you doing next weekend BTW?

ya i've seen your driveway
a slammed del sol probably isn't the bet fit

i'm definitely around this weekend
21 on friday
so my present to myself is to drive the sol, work on it/install new parts
almost like i'm getting presents for it rather than myself lol

exactly will....any musclehead can build a 1000hp mustang with $5k or w/e....but building a 900hp at 42psi on a 4cyl? thats more impressive. like will said...feeling of accomplishment. and on a side note, he hasnt lost to a v8 in 2 1/2 yrs. he runs a 9.6 on 1/4 and droppin boost down to 14psi puts him at 415hp and runs a 6.8 on the 1/8th.

FIrst off...
I do not condone street racing, this could have well have happened at Infineon's Wed Night Drags for all that matters..

In the news: I barelylost to a old Passat VR6 GLX - 172 hp, 172 tq..today.

Just plain sad.

Torque wins races and unfortunately my B16 lacks torque.
Custom turbo kit is sitting under my desk. I can install with a basemap running 550's right now, but I'd rather wait to finish school, get a job, and get it done right... Get it tuned.

I'm hoping for 250whp with a T3/T4 at 8 psi. But all my turbo friends keep telling me, when it comes to boost, enough is never enough.

I think 250whp for a DD is enough for me. Given there is traction.

Though I love sols ( I got two sitting in my backyard), they are just too slow without FI, or heavily modded NA... Maybe I need to lose some weight personally.

- Yeah I know, Im a sore loser.

^^ I like my b16 on boost. Not too much torque so you can keep traction on the street. Even then I lose traction in 3rd at only 250 lb/ft.

And I never really understand why people say del sol's are so heavy and slow. Correct me if I'm wrong but my stock S-model del sol weights like what 2200 some odd pounds. Is that not only like 100 or so pounds more than a civic hatch of the same year? And my uncle owns a farm (which I currently work at as well cause the economy sucks soo bad) but he has a big scale for equipment that is accurate to 10 pounds. When I stand on it alone it said 170. I weight like 173 so its pretty damn accurate. When I was in my car and weighed it on the scale it was 2530 lbs.

Mind you this is with me in it at 173 lbs., full interior, and b16 with full turbo kit on it. Granted I did have a carbon fiber hood and trunk. Considering an integra weighs like 2500 or 2600 lbs. stock...I don't think thats too bad. But like I said before it's no 2000 lb. crx but then again...we can take our tops off. :-P

Default Re: del Sol Owner's Club Thread v 2.0!

i think the heaviest i've been was like 2550 something with a full turbo kit.

Last time I weighed I was like 2400 something. That was with slicks and skinnies tho

I know my motor is probably heavier than stock. Its an S model but did rear discs (not sure if that makes much of a difference. But I do have a glass top and fiberglass seats. Also don't have a lot going on under the dash or the bay (no ps,abs,cc, ac) with a lightweight battery. So give or take and some cancel each other out.

But even if its close to stock between an integra 4 door and a eg hatch, you can't gut it and lose a lot of weight like the other cars. not much room to shave. I've seen eg hatches trim down to almost 2000lbs from doing simple stuff. Can't do that with a sol. I was going to cut my trunk and do aluminum but found out someone else already did and only lost 8lbs LOL. not worth it imo for that much.

I think a long time ago it was said 100lbs = 1 tenth faster. Not sure how true it is. But then you figure out how much additional hp will make u go X secs faster and try to balance it out.

Weights not so much important with FI cars but all motor cars its key. Thats why eg/ek hatch are still the best to put a fully built NA powerplant in...not so much a dc or del sol.

The other major drawback about the del sol chassis is wheelbase and the limitations and difficulties in putting a cage in.

I'm thinking I want to start worrying less about losing weight but rather corner weighting now and getting my suspension tuned

Does anyone know if you can get LED bulbs in JDM Fillers? is it the same bulb as the trunk? probably not... Does anyone know the exact bulb number. That would be helpful thanks!

i'm pretty sure they are not the same as the trunk
the trunk uses a wedge type bulb which is the same as the city lights
however they differ in sizes and specs even though all the sockets are the same and they fit.

if they make LED bulbs for the aux lights I'm pretty sure they would make them for the fillers

does anyone have or know where to get the rubber trim pieces that go around the windshield? There's 3 pieces, 1 for the right side, 1 for the left side, and 1 for the top. When I took mine off they were in bad shape anyway so I didn't take much care with them thinking they wouldn't be too much but then I see that Honda wants like $60 for each of the side pieces and like $15 for the top piece. Its just rubber and some plastic clips. Stealerships

Thanks Matt. I never thought about trying a windshield place. Maybe they can get them cheaper...who knows. So I see/hear you got rid of the sol. Is it to someone local to you? I just couldn't sell my sol local and then see someone driving it around. It would kill me
