or maybe just to utilize the same design cause it worked well before so thought they'd stick with it until they designed something new?

love to see and hear a twin loop on a del sol (done before?)

oh and with the mugen eg exhaust? do you have to attach another hanger on the other side or something?

wonder how that eg2 exhaust is gonna look as well?

ownage?

top?

because generally mugen parts aren't much better than any of their replica counterparts @ double the price....AT LEAST.....wheels and dressup items specifically, but the replica wings I'd be willing to bet would produce such a close enough down force that the difference couldn't even be felt.....IDK, never been a huge mugen fan

I was refering more directly to the poser thing though....I've never rocked fake **** then claimed it as real, never claimed my **** to be the best this or the best that, I know where my **** stands and don't claim it to be any better/worse than it is

mugen wings dont provide any downforce. but with everything else your dead on man.

Mugen &gt; spoon (barely)

Thats all I have to say about aftermarket honda tuners.

I wish spoon made a front end for the del sol in the same line as the s2k front...

I'd like to see an AP2 front bumper with a dolphin sol top half

I think that would be slighty more agressive and functional aero wise than a mugen.

13" for $1K is insane..15's go for that price lol

yeah, they wont fit the big brakes

and yeah, they arent really gonna show the brakes much, but its cool..im just surpised i got these wheels, so that can be an acception

to some, they just see the wheels as "ugly", but to an enthusiast, they tend to be appreciated more for what they are..i personally love the way they look, so i dont care

the MF10L's were cool, nice color/style, but the sizing kinda sucks since they looked somewhat sunken in..the RE's on the other hand, show ALOT more of the brakes than the MF10L's and are much more aggressive looking, which is what i was going for..not to mention their fitment is alot better as well..

yeah, you could be right on it being made to look like its predecesor with the dual tips, etc..for the EG's they had the same teardrop muffler, but with a BuddyClub type of tip and the outlet was on the same side, not opposite like the EG2 exhaust..

yes, the Mugen EG/EG2 exhausts need another hanger and a separate bracket, which sucks cuz alot of times you have to have your own fabricated(bracket)..

i too wonder what that Mugen EG2 exhaust would look like ..ive seen more pics of Mugen EG2 sideskirts, than i have seen of the exhaust

see, now youre bringing in the "real vs fake" debate, rather than you ragging on Mugen in general about being pricey and for "bragging rights"..before replicas came out, Mugen was obviously there first, and researched, THEN made the parts for what their function is used for..

of course the replicas might come close to functioning as much as the real, but its about who was the first to make it and function the way it should

but you pretty much summed it up with your post..youre not a Mugen fan, so that explains the fact that you havent looked into them and just decided to rag without having a true statement to back up your **** talking

well dont make generalized statements that mugen is for bragging rights or for those with more money than sense. If it's for braggin rights, why the hell did you buy a fake wing at all, just to pose. hello just because it's a copy and cost you less than a real one, just means your jocking the mugen design even if it was cheaper for you. Just because you didnt claim it was real, even cut out the badge mount in which I very loudly aplaud you, doesnt me you werent posing... still a fake is just jocking the original plain and simple.

just clarify before you post instead of generalizing with mugen owners in this thread who have been around for a good bit and arent selling out anytime soon.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by MAFDARK &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">mugen wings dont provide any downforce. but with everything else your dead on man. </TD></TR></TABLE>

actually the do provide some downforce. i was suprised when i mounted mine how much it shifted and moved into place after a few hwy runs. look at that white del sol making 850hp with the s2k tails and fugen front. he has the 'drag' style spoiler which juts straight off the back of the deck about a foot to increase downforce for the car... mugen does work. increased air flow up front and downforce in back.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by .Sarge. &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Mugen &gt; spoon (barely)

i enjoy my mugen over spoon but its a shame spoon didnt make any aero for the sol. talk about function over form... spoon is even more purist than mugen sometimes.

bought the wing for the same reason I do every other mod...I like the way it looks and/or functions over either not having it or over stock

didn't mean to ruffle any feathers, just stating what I beleive is generally true.

you both pretty much summed it up i dont think i have anything to add

but how can you knock on/hate hondas "performance division" just because of the hype/rarety that caused the prices of their parts to skyrocket?

and if thats the case, dont rag the ones who do like it. it's a choice just like hatch owners with a mid wing

and not being a fan brings back the point you bought a copy like saying your not a fan of dudes and hiding gay **** under your mattres.

is there really a benefit of having "downforce" on a the rear of a FWD car?

and yes I have looked into them/know about them, they are a great company that does all their homework but the fact is, their **** is WAAAAY overpiriced and all these knockoff company can make the same product out of the same materieals and it miraculously costs a **** ton less. about 50-60% of the cost of a mugen product is simply it's name and overpaying for it's R&D

It's not about who does it first, it's about who does it best IMO

its **** talking, and you know it Sean

reason why it cost so much is cuz its from a company that DID THEIR OWN RESEARCH as to HOW THEIR OWN PRODUCT WORKS! rather than taking the idea from a company and making replicas..its not something hard to understand

and to your statement i put in bold compared to the paragraph you typed above is completely a double standard..replicas that perform the same wouldnt be there if there wasnt a company they couldnt copy..

hope this makes sense to you, cuz youre totally going back and forth on your words lol

Evening friends.

On the real vs debate thread, lets just admit that everyone has something that they are enthusiastic about. None of us judge you on what you spend your money on, so don't judge us.

Also, consider that owning a rare Mugen part is like owning a piece of history, a rare piece of art, or a rare baseball card. The value is there because of the perceived value that a community of other enthusiasts believe it to be. It's a balance between personal taste being the guy that has that cool thing. People want what other people can't have, sometimes for no other reason than being the guy that has it.

I guess what I'm saying is that whatever the reason, the fact remains that everyone has their opinion and everyone is entitled to exactly that. It's when someone steps on the toes of someone else's opinion when feelings get hurt.

Btw

I think as you mature, you'll find that there is something to be said for having a bit of brand loyalty. I know I've said this before, but I'm an advocate for cheap duplicated fiberglass Mugen parts as long as they are replicated as closely as possible. Logically why not get the same exact thing for less money? Fiberglass is meant to be inexpensive to create, to repair, and to replace as a consumer. The problems arise from the quality of the fiber, the overall quality of construction, and when the owner calls a replica an authentic piece (which happens a lot with high dollar items that are easily duplicated for cheap, like designer purses. )

Since we're giving opinions here Sean, it sounds like you're hating on Mugen because you're a broke tuner, and it's easier to hate something you can't afford than it is to admit that maybe you're not where you'd like to be yet. We've all been there, so you can let your guard down and we will man hug you.

Wow... You know how I feel about these, and I'm so happy for you that you have them. They will look super amazing on your car bro... Wow...

Did you notice that the NR10R's in the catalog on the pro.3 had the NR10 center caps on them? They look like nr10r's anyways, but the resolution is pretty small.

Anyways... Wow... So proud of you and how far you've come.
