wow i'm gettin my LSV swap done this weekend too.
although i was told i'd only have to baby it for about 50 miles before a dyno tune.

+1
But then again lots of people have their own opinion on how to break in a motor.

I only heard of the 1K break in rule applying to new built fresh motors
Basically to seat the new pistons, rings, and sleeves
with oil changes like every 200 miles until 1K is reached to flush out all the metal shavings
but never really heard of people using it for stock motors
just slap it together and go as far as what I've seen
although i guess it wouldn't hurt to break it in regardless just to be safe verse sorry
at least just check on it and keep an eye out for leaks or everything, but besides that it should be fine
what i wonder is how do they break in new motors in brand new cars? do the owners have to baby it? or is it already done before the consumer gets it?

There are quite a few people in here that rock a DSLR (Macho, Myself, Justin, Vy, YOU.)
We can probably help.

Uh idk.
When I was in high school I went to the Honda plant in marysville oh. (shadowing day)
At the time they were making elements. When they came off the line they took them out on rouggly 1/2 mile track over bumps / hard turns etc and then pulled them into a lot to be shipped to a dealer.
Can't say thats how it is for every car, but thats how they did it when I was there...
