I understand your sentiments... however

Type R lip > no lip. And in tems of functionality they are almost Equal.

But yeah EM1 lip > * (but that fit lip is pretty damn nice!)

Oh I saw your post on VaDriven, are you gonna get the rims?

Ahh, see I think I would rather have no lip, they dont look anything like the em1 lip IMO ( the fit lip is nice!)

Which wheels are you talking of? RPF1's +35? those were the only one's I was considering

Technically mine may be a EM1 lip, since that's what I ordered directly from Honda, but it does kinda look like the Type R lip.

So I called it one.

I think it looks good, regardless.

you serious? Honda sold you that as an EM1 lip? damn sounds like you got owned my friend

The H22 with A/C does fit you just have to use a push fan and mount it on the outside of the Condensor while still running the H-Series compressor and Alternator ... I have a picture of this but it's in another thread and for some reason it won't let me copy and paste it ... I will try to get them up tomorrow if it will let me ...

Also, I have all the A/C parts sitting in my friends shed and when it gets cooler down here in the South we are gonna attempt to put it in my car with the Duece Duece

We will be taking photos of the process and I'll probably make a thread about it so when I do I will let you know and that way you can see how it works out and if you like it and so forth .... Just a FYI

Well I was happy with no lip for a while.
I mean when I first got the car I couldnt be happier.

But then I got in this thread and kept seeing all these sexy sols with lips and how much it added to the car.

So eventually I made my own.

Dirty Octopus had pitty and sent me his old one. which I have now. Honesly the best setup I want is the em1 full carbonfiber front splitter and rear diffuser with some underbody peices to smooth things out under the car. Yes its going to be higher as soon as I save my pennies for PIC coilovers.

Give a year or two.

And yeah the Enkies would look fantastic on your car!!! still really similar to the Koseis you had though.

Owned or not, it least it still looks good. I did notice something odd when my friend who has an EM1 came over and parked next to me, that the lips did not match 100%. At least it's fitment is good, and the way I put it on was a little different. I actually trimmed the lip so it would slide over the bumper a little bit so it would look more factory-esque (like the EM1 lip). It doesn't look as low as I wanted but eh, whatever.

The sol's bumpers don't hang as low (even with lips) as cars like the EM1's. Or maybe that's just my findings

Oh and Wray -- you'll be happy. I sold out on the NA build, just picked up a turbo from a friend for a price I couldn't resist.

Throwback -- when I first got the sol (well about a month or two after)

All it had was coilovers, shitty wheels (although sometimes I miss silver wheels), tint and some fresh paint.

To know, with better paint and different coilovers, new front bumper, lip, Mugen wheels, etc.

atta boy

i just hate seeing people want to WASTE their moneys on these killer n/a builds, but on a d series there just isnt much power to be made out of a n/a d series.. boost is the way to go IMO with a d series

It's a small one, Greddy 19T or G or something lol. It's the one that comes with the kit for the EK's.

Makes great torque and with the trans setup I have now, it will always be in boost lol

I'd like to make about 180-190whp and 160-170 wheel torque. My buddy who had that turbo made 186whp and 184 wtq!

Right. The 19T isn't as good as the 15G low end wise, but since the trans I have is geared towards top end, got the 19T since it's top end's a lot better.

4.9 FD FTW.

Whole different feel of the car. Wray and Chris -- jump on the bandwagon.

well eventually, I will rebuild my stock B16 tranny with LSD and custom gearing running a 4.9! but gas mileage will be out the window or 30mpg right now with 4.7 and doing 75-80 i can get 33-35 hwy.

but i also have a d15b7 daily

ok, yours is more of an exception, since it was basically a rebuild using better parts he was talking about sleeving, bigger bore, high compression pistons, ect.. imo THATS a waste thousands into a motor that might barely break 175whp

or 1k into a simple turbo kit that will make 200whp+ pretty easly

oh and id love a better heared tranny, but i like my cruising at 90mph doin 4k rpms and gettin 28mpg city/35mpg highway (+)

I gotta agree with wray on the N/A d series. Boost is the way to go. I got the boost bug right now so that's what I'll do once my hatch is finished.

People don't realize that high RPM doesn't = bad mileage.

Higher RPM with less throttle = better MPG than lower RPM with more throttle.

the high comp pistons are sweet!

I do 45mph in 5th gear with 4% throttle, measured with my apexi vafc2.

edit : forgot the rpm, but it was somewhere around 1.5k - 2k
