yeah haha, its definetly gona be expensive, definetly feasable once u get the funds down and a bit of research. my friend has a b16 turbo hatch with a drag t3/t4 kit,8 psi, untuned and it pulls like a monster. the agressiveness of the b16 cams + the turbo reaching full spool at about the same time is just scary as ***** but fun as hell. I cant even imagine what 500whp feels like

The biggest thin i DONT understand is the tuning part of it all can i do it all myself without ever having to take it to the dyno?

Oh yeah i also have a 255lph pump and a gsr trans (real close ratio- i dunno how well itl hold up to the turbo). But still.... a looooooooong ways to go before i even begin.

^& i still have to buy some of those sometime along the line.

LOL. yeah,I have about just as much saved up for my b-series fund. I told myself to get the big expense out of the way and leave all the other mods alone for now. Hopefully the holidays dont hurt me too much and my xmas BONUS is good enough to get me a nice little start on the saving.

for tuning, your best bet would be a hondata. You can of course tune it yourself, but considering you have never tuned anyting before, would u really wanna risk ur 6 grand investment, and play around with absolutely everything that makes ur motor tick. lol.

Dont even think twice about it,find a reputable tuner/dyno shop nearest to you and just take ur car to them once its all said and done.

Im a huge sohc turbo fan myself! Ive been giving it a lot of thought for my del sol,but I tend to beat the **** out of my car,so a basic B-series swap with bolt ons will be better long-term wise for me. </TD></TR></TABLE>

sohc-t can be just as reliable if not more, if you dont push way too much power, and have a good tune..

I plan to run somewhere close to 230whp... good enough for me at 17y/o... not off to a bad start .. hah.. oh and for those haters, I bought my car totally stock, and everything that has gone into it, has been from my hard earned/saved cash.. no mommy/daddy bought..

Yay for computers! I think most of the crap I get is spyware. If you don't already have em' download AdAware and Spybot. Both are great...and FREE! Thanks for the compliments man. You were one of the Sol'ers who stood by me when it looked "derka, derka" haha. What a pal! But let's face it, it did look like ***.

well,I agree and know that it can be very reliable. Im not even lookin for anything OVER 200whp. The turbo gsr coupe I had for a little while,I drove pretty hard and it wasnt even tuned without incident, but still, turbo will always be more wear and tear on the motor,as well as require a bit more overlooking/maintenance than a b-series with bolt ons. However,I do know that 200+ whp whether all motor or turbo will require the same overlooking/maintenance/ and have plenty of wear/tear.

But thats why sohc turbo is appealing in the first place, even if ur motor takes a dump on you,its cheap and easy to get ur hands/store and replace it with another one. I just dont have a garage and dont have much time for down time. who knows though,I could always change my mind and eat these words when I have the money in my hand.

are u doing a custom or off the shelf kit?

RA1's are a good cheap tire for a semi slick, the second layer is where it's at, but they chew out hella fast even for a soft compund

That's cheap! But I can make a set of RA1's unroadworthy in about one good track meeting, so defeats the purpose for me, especially when I want to use them more than once or drive to local club events like hillclimbs etc Currently running R888's but going to D0J2's next (had DOJ1's before that )

Haven't tried the a048's, you dont like?
