i never liked how thick the block off was, and how high off the body it stood....i think ill just leave the stock antenna retracted. cheaper and less work and i dont really care </TD></TR></TABLE>

Jesse made the point to me,
Some people who didn't know how jdm or cool a BOP was might just think its a piece of plastic covering a hole in the body.....

....which is exactly what it is....LOL

I guess I'd prefer to have it shaved ideally
but the car wasn't going to the body shop any time soon (i wish it was )
so I had a dilemna between BOP or this

was going to go ahead and buy the BOP and everything but then decided to just try something different...
also I wanted to figure it out/see if it could be done...
Plus BOP was going to be the same price as the s2k antenna so i'd figure i'd have nothing to lose by giving it a try...

i didn't mind leaving it down on the stock antenna
since I don't use the radio either...(iPod/CD good enough for me)
everytime my dad would drive me car he'd leave the antenna ALL the way extended
I also wouldn't mind a power automatic extending and retracting antenna either
but it would still be all the way up when driving down the street or even the track
rolling shots or burnout pics would looks less intimidating with a huge long antenna sticking out LOL

but anyways, I plan on trying to make this one work as good as stock antenna all the way extended but look a bit better
and hopefully with my design/directions
it should be a breeze to change with little know how and no hassle
cause i somehow managed to get the stock antenna out in 5 min with a flat head and monkey wrench aka hammer LOL
also I might be able to get a deal on s2k antennas from my buddy that works at the dealership and could sell those together too as a whole kit
plus I want to get back my radio capabilities
as it was another luxury i stripped myself of (besides, a/c, p/s, cc, heat, fan, etc)

thanks man

pete made me do it LOL

oh and another little update:

old/before (huge protruding hump, small space, and HEAVY):

new/after (nice smooth and flush, more room, and a lot lighter):

finally i got the right flush box that is supposed to be with the nice flush airbagless dash (thanks to jimmy where is he btw?? )
been driving me crazy with it being backwards and mixed matched (ugly box with nice dash)

its ghetto rigged right now
still need to find the right brackets and clips
probably going to order them today if i can't find them used from anyone...

started the sol for the first time in months

sounded and felt really good

tomorrow hopefully the weather warms up so I can drive it
I wanted REALLY bad today/just now and it took a lot of self control to shut off the car and not take it out for a spin....

Z6 head stock for now
Y8 Tranny
Y7 block
Eagle Rods
9:1 Wiesco pistons - 20 over
ARP head studs
OEM head gasket

Toga HV Oil pump

Looking awesome Will. I didn't know you were gonna do an S2K. It's longer then mine. Are you install it the same way I did or is it an easier install with the s2k.

I'm using a Shark antenna.

i know what you mean about budget
but yea
you can have the console
and i get the pods...
deal? LOL

the shift boot is nice i must say (is it rare at all)
and wouldn't mine having the fog switch too
but i'll let you have it since i know you want it so much
cause i want the pods just as bad

yea
i didn't want to copy you 100%
install was easy but not complete
i might have to resort to glue if it doesn't work out
but hopefully won't
even though yours still looks great...

thanks
a basic clean interior would be very nice
you should get the radio block off if you get rid of the radio
even though the del sol has the flip up cover
i wanted to get one myself
and just wire it directly to an ipod
or use it as a surround for some gauges or an apexi something...

only 2 speakers work in my car anyway for some reason
so i might as well take the rear 2 out LOL
