If it's burning a lot of oil then it will definately fail. Maybe try a thicker oil for when you do the test, then change it afterward?
For someone who has easy as hell emissions, I seem to be able to find a few ways to get past it

Wheels are fine, they're just dirty and they're 15's.
Notice there's part of the rotor gone

its not burning much oil as far as i can tell, but i think there may be some blow by. talked to a few experts at work and they suggest changing the oil and cleaning out the return system, as the hydrocarbons will have accumulated heavily in the oil and influence emissions DRASTICALLY. We'll see what other suggestions I can gather and take care of.
things are looking a little brighter though, because I didn't want the swap to be the first thing i do to the car

guess thats what i get for trying to smog a car with 278,000 miles on it

</TD></TR></TABLE>psh, only 278k? My step-mom sold her 95 civic EX coupe with 380k on it and it still ran like the day it was made. It just goes to show you what routine maintenance can accomplish...
Anywho, i know you can get that car to smog with that motor in it, just might take a bit of work =/

yeah i'm thinkin if i do a major tune up to it we should be able to figure something out. Additionally, it started to overheat.... ******* cars. gotta figure that one out too.

Those are the parts on the cooling system that will own you, especially with that kind of mileage.
