The HKS Hiper for the DA has 55mm piping for a reason. Notice how the exhaust still comes over the passenger LCA and exits on the driver's side. This exhaust route on the DA makes for longer piping, hence more volume in the exhaust system itself. The 55mm piping size reduces the volume of the exhaust system JUST ENOUGH so you don't sacrifice all of your low and mid range power from having a long exhaust with large piping. The RS*R GTII has larger piping than the HKS Hiper because the piping is as straight as possible, reducing the overall volume of the exhaust system. This way, the RS*R has high flow becuase of bigger piping but doesn't sacrifice low end because the piping is so short.
Trust HKS...they knew what they were doing when they made the piping 55mm...

THANK YOU!!! I have a stock bumper on and the black one has the add on kit from Wings West. Thats why it looks more flush...DO you know how littls 5mm means....its smaller then your pinky. In the grand scheme, an awesome looking and sounding exhaust that fits perfect and makes power...Theres no contest. HKS wins hands down

the one blac one does have a different back bumper but the one below has a stock 92-93 bumper and it sits flush... the only reason i went on the piping size for my choice is because i figured 55mm for a type r motor wasn't enough...
