Re: DA Integra's Only
That's exactly what I was thinking but edited it out of my post. Totally feasible. I could see the original owner selling just the shell and the buyer swapping in a base model K and posting the vid on youtube. I'd like to see a recent shot of the engine bay.

Re: DA Integra's Only
I'm really geting sick of talking about this car. I'm posting info straight from the source and I still have people doing the typical H-T "I think I read somewhere that it's X (even though all information points to Y)." Someone please get me some info to back this up. I already have one person (slammedg2) saying that he saw in the BUILD thread that it was a K20A3, when I saw the SAME thread as well as the sale thread and it was a K20A2.
You guys act like you've never seen a built car with a shitty tune that runs like ***.

Re: DA Integra's Only
I remember when companies were making mount kits for an H22A into a DA it was a bit harder due to less hood clearance than the EG/DC and EK chassis.
Also, the H2B setup provides some evidence of less hood clearance: you can use the setup without hood tilt on EG/DC (by cutting the underhood webbing), but even with the hood cut on a DA you have to tilt the rear.
From what I understand, the EK chassis has the best hood clearance of all of the 90s Civic/Integra chassis. The DA and EF are the worst (EF being the absolute worst).

h2b hood tilt is mainly because of the intake manifold in the back. i'm actually more concerned about the front of the engine bay?
did pandahatch have to cut the webbing in the hood to close it with the k20?
Yes, the engine can take a lot, but the transmissions haven't yet proven themselves to be as durable. This is the same for the F/H series transmissions; both the F/H and the K series transmissions are cable actuated (not to be confused with cable clutch) and don't use direct shift linkage like B/D series. Personally, I hate cable actuated transmissions. That was the whole resoning behind the H2B: get rid of the weak cable actuated transmission and use one proven to be durable.
You don't have a frankenstein motor. You have a regular motor with a different transmission on it.
Same for the H-series. A 100% internally stock H22A with some bolt-ons and tuning will net 200 reliable horsepower. Even more power can be seen when using an H23A DOHC VTEC, H22A Type S or Euro R.
There is only ONE drawback to the H2B setup (aside from hood clearance) and that is currently being addressed: the different tilt of the engine with the H2B swap makes the oil pan sit in an awkward position. It makes it hard to drain your oil and it can lead to oil starvation issues with a lot of g-force making the oil go to the front of the pan away from the pickup. Kaizenspeed is making an H2B specific oil pan that gets rid of this issue. Once that drops, H2B is issue free.
I'd take a stock H22A Type S longblock with a stock ITR transmission over a K-swap ALL DAY.

also, that 200whp number with k-swap is extremely low for a stock type s with k-pro. and its a little on the high side of stock h22a's with hondata s200.
the only advantage i see with h2b is price. but sometimes you gotta pay the cost to be the boss.
i'm curious if a k24 would fit under the hood of a da without propping the back or cutting a hole? since most DA owners are quitters or poor i can't find anyone who has finished a build with that setup. found about 10 who started.

Re: DA Integra's Only
No arguing, we're just talking about a DA in a DA thread. No bid deal. Who cares? Knowledge at thsi point hasn't seen the video of the car on youtube so until he see's it he won't understand why we're all pointing to Y when he's proving it's X.

Type-S isn't all that great. Remember we get all the crap because of emissions.

actually now that i watch the video, it looks like the other car was accelerating with him, like they were racing instead of him just doing a pull
