I think you should focus on fixing the front end before you worry about putting a spoiler on

You guys think its worth it to buy some performance shocks if you keep stock springs? I'm a spirited driver, but i'm not willing to invest in springs, and deal with the alignment issues that lowering the car brings you on my DD. But it is time to replace the shocks and i'm considering some GR-2's or Tokico Blues over the Duralast. Think it'll be worth it?

I personally think that'll be fine. I wouldn't want to do it the other way around though. Performance springs and stock struts. I would recommend though the illuminas. I've had the illuminas and i thought they were far better than the blues. I also think if you go the tokico route you should pick up their springs with it. That way you can reap the benefits of the warranty. I had the springs from them with a 1 inch drop. It didn't really drop the car at all and i still had a great street setup.

I'm pretty sure this was the tokicos but i could be mistaken. I will check when i get home tonight. These are 17's on the car as well.

There shouldn't be a problem when lowering the car for alignment issues. I had my car with about a 2 1/2 finger gap and went right into sears to get an alignment with no camber kit or issues from them. It's always worth it to get performance shocks even with stock springs, but only if you get a shock like Illumina or Koni yellow.

i KNEW you, or someone would say that. There is a problem when lowering the car for alignment issues. The camber isn't straight or even without buying a camber kit. thats not something i want to deal with. Now i know, i know, you're gonna tell me that toe is what kills tires, not camber. But negative camber definately hurts driving in the rain, and it also certainly does wear tires unevenly, even if slightly. This is my DD, and i really don't have any desire to deal with those issues every single day of my life. Also, i'm not investing the extra money in springs. the stock springs on my car are in great shape. the shocks are the problem.

Is there gonna be any noticeable performance gain with aftermarket shocks and stock springs, or should i just buy the autozone shocks?

i don't wanna lower the car at all though. it's already low enough at stock height for my everyday driving in and out of work.

just pretend i'm doing some SCCA autocross stock class. shock upgrades but not springs

I say go with the Tokico HP "Blue" shocks. I think they are just a stock upgrade shock, similar to the KYB GR2 like you said. They should go well with your stock springs.

after some more reading i've learned that they should help with my transitional handling (steering side to side, jumping on the brakes) but the steady state handling should be about the same (hi speed body lean).

I'll have to think about whether or not its worth it tonight.
