idk, i'm looking at all sorts of cars. eg hatches, coupes, sedans, dc integra's db's, ludes, i even have a mustang bookmarked for cheap. idk yet. i'll probably end up with another honda. i found a nice dx sedan on si's for $1500 or $1000 without the si's. little rust on the rear quarters though. whatever i get, i'm ordering a turbo kit the same day, lol.

I couldnt find a better place to post my question (I am new to this site).
I have a 91 CRX i swapped a ZC engine into. I bought it from a local JDM place. When i bought the engine I was told it was equivilant to a D16Z6 except for the camshaft so i assumed it was a VTEC, however, looking at the engine im not to sure it is actually a VTEC.
So my question is how can i tell if the engine is the ZC VTEC (Z6 clone) or the non VTEC (A6 clone)?

Note: VTEC is not written on the Valve cover.

Note: I am more familiar with Chevrolet engines and im just starting to get into hondas (which i fell in love with!).

any help would be awesome!

Lol, I feel ya on that. My oil pan on my gsr in my hatch(daily) is literally 3in from the ground! I drag my mudflaps everywhere. Riding dumped daily is a way of life it takes skill to drive like that. It's not for everybody but most cars look sick slammed

I agree with single cam fan, It's not for everybody but most cars look sick slammed. I drag my mud flaps all the time. Only problem i have the rear of my hatch is too high for my liking and i wanna lower it more. I have been looking to get a set of F&F coilovers or maybe another brand.

well there are 3 ways to go about finding out, i never thought there was a ZC vtec at all, i thought the zc was just either a sohc or dohc non vtec motor. but to check for vtec here is how

1. look for the vtec solenoid on the backside of the head by the distributor, should have a green and brown plug on it.
2. check the block code and post it up on here, can be found just below the upper radiator hose on the front of the motor.
3. Are the spark plug holes on the front side of the valve cover or backside?

you should be in the low 13's/high 12's with your MPH. What was your 60 ft for that 14 sec run? Did you not have traction?

DAMN! Get some slicks and that time will be hella low. I hit a 13.1 @ 99mph with my DA back in 97 shooting 80 shot Direct port with some 14inch slicks. I shoulda been in the high/mid 12's if I had a clutch
