Haha thanks fernando.
Its getting there...
This car came a long way and the end is nowhere near d horizon yet.
Next year (after the challenge) the car will get lighter and faster. I cant do anything to it at the moment but aero and keep my weight within specs (2500lbs)
Plus side, driving a heavy car fast is good practice haha

Battle, I always wondered why you don't have a cage? Is it because of weight or you feel it does not need one?

Do you have a Baja or formula sae program at your school? I would suggest getting involved in that, or starting a chapter if you don't have one. It's an amazing experience.

Awesome congrats man. Yeah I am a freshman and currently I am taking Calculus II, Statics, AutoCAD, and Physics and some other general freshman classes (you know how those are). I really am enjoying it so far especially the major specific classes. What type of engineering are you in?

Its the minimum safety requirement for some organizers along with a 5pt and a bucket.
Plus I do drive d car at least 2x a week around town and sometimes to work still.
In my own sense, if I put a full cage, it would take away that street car feel from my 4dr.
I love this car too much, I cant make it a weekend only racecar.
That is my problem
Maybe someday soon. Weight really isnt an issue. I can find ways to make up for that added weight (skin doors, remove glass, sunroof, etc)
If I get another hobby or another car then all that could happen. For now, it wont be stripped and caged yet.

Jay I can't wait to see what you do for aero. I know I've been harping on you to do it before. How are the rules? How much under car aero are you allowed?
I'm mechanical. I already work in gas turbine power gen, might try to jump ship and go automotive though.
