Nitrous on 404's
I am currently selling my N2O kit b/c I dont think it is safe, b/c of the overlap; but someone told they did it and ran fine! Just thought I'd ask before selling my nitrous kit!
Why would overlap cause it to be unsafe?
More of the nitrious is going to be scavanged out of the cyinders, but its not going to cause any damage.

This is true, but this could cause a lean or rich condition. I guess if your cams are tuned on nitrous, you should have no worries. They say the 403's are good for nitrous, so the 404's can't be all that bad...

Why would less nitrious cause a lean condition?
If its a wet shot, or direct port, the correct amount of fuel should be injected. If the nitrious/fuel gets scavanged, it should remain in a safe range. Its no different than running N2O on an ITR motor (which unfortunetly lots of people do)

I have a wet kit but Im afraid of spray it on the 404's and B16 Pistons! Maybe you guys are right and I shouldnt worry but I dont know!

I just always heard if you are spraying that if you have to much overlap then it isnt good for the engine and it wont perform as well as it should with a cam with less overlap!
It won't perform as well, yes, because you lose some of the nitrious. But its not bad for the engine. If anything cylinder pressure will be less, and it would be better for the engine.
B16 I would worry about because of the very high cylinder pressures with that high compression, and the chance of pre-ignition/detonation.

As long as you have enough fuel you will be ok, just keep in mind that you will be at 10.8:1 CR which is going to be a slightly higher risk. If you don't detonate, you should be set.
Fuel shouldnt be problem b/c my FPR will not go below 50psi, I need a new one! Anyway Im not worried about it b/c someone just bought my wet kit so I dont even need to think about spraying anymore!
more fuel. wouldnt the overlap cause a problem though? im assuming you can change cam timing to make up for that overlap? Im not running 404s but this is what im assuming.
Yeah but I went ahead and sold the kit though. I just dont want to deal with it anymore, b/c you cant use on the road coure or at autocross events anyway!
