Default The G.E. Experience

The G.E. Experience
Customers often ask if they need to send in a core for exchange. We do not like to do exchanges. It’s preferred for you to send in a core.
We sell what are called “cores” for you to work with. Each core gets inspected for any damage or any compromised threads, cracks, defects etc.
Although Most customers send in cores to save a few bucks.
Each sleeved engine core block is custom made to fit the desired specs of the customer. First step is to clean the core in the hot tank. After going through the hot tank all G.E. provided cores get bead blasted. If you want your personal core you have sent in bead blasted that will be a small additional fee. The bead blast really brings out the best of the engine as far as cosmetics go. Yes we hot tank the block again after the bead blast in case your wondering. Next the sleeves need to be CNC machined to 0.030 thousandths of an inch less than requested in millimeter bore. After the sleeves are pressed in; we then put the block back on the CNC Mill to have the ''O'' Ring groove cut in (upon request) . Then it's time for the block to have the final bore/hone work. ''Note'' We will request the pistons here for final bore/hone. After that is accomplished. We do a pressure test on the core to make sure the sleeves aren’t compromised during the install process. We double check all work done on the blocks through each process.
If you supply the core we will ask if you want us to check and see if you need a align bore. You will be contacted if align bore is needed. That will be an additional fee. ''Note'' When ever you severely over heat your engine, over tighten the mains, add a Girdle or spin a bearing you will need a align bore, to ensure proper function.
Now the block is given a generous spray bath off ''Cosmoline'' Lubricating - Protecting spray (to prevent rust). The blocks is now ready for shipping or further work, such as a build or main Girdle install. I hope this brief description answers any questions you may have about the G.E. resleeving process. Feel free to give us a Call/Email.

Thank you,
Bob Woodcock
