ZEX cam or new sc PULLEY
ok- here is the current mods
d16y8
jackson racing supercharger currently at 6lb
intake
header
test pipe
cat-back
fuel pump
safc
my question is, would it be better, as far as reliabilty, overall hp gains, and everything else considerd to buy the ZEX street/strip cam and springs or a 9lb pulley? Both would be dynoed and tuned using the safc after the install.

Re: ZEX cam or new sc PULLEY (JICEK9)
the reason people havent responded is because they probably have no idea.... im sure both would make pretty decent power gains but i would personally go with a bigger pulley to start with. with more boost you will make more power accross the whole powerband where as with a cam you can only tune for low end torque OR high end hp... point being is that with the cam you will most likely loose some low end in sacrafice for higher peak hp, whereas more boost would give you power across the whole powerband, btw; when do you reach full boost? never been in a jrsc car......

I'd go with the cam, since once you realize the JR supercharger is boring and go turbo, it will still be useful

Superchargers make 'full' boost the instant you floor the throttle....! That's the point

get bent! why did you even reply? I don't want this to turn into a sc vs turbo or d vs b debate! some idiot always replies with some **** that jacks my threads. Tommorrow I'll check this thread and it will be 6 pages of why a turbo b is way better then my sc d series!

You may want to look into a different cam. Maybe one more boost specific. The zex cam is good for n/a. I think you could get a good boost grind from exospeed or even Endyn. With the money you'd save on an exospeed cam you can get the pulley also.

In order to up the boost should I be getting a boost timing ignition?

Yep you need to retard timing.
If you have your heart set on a cam look into compcams stage 1 it is recommended for f/i.
Your money is better spent on a pulley and Hondata.

This is what I was looking at now in addition to the pulley.
This is a kit they have come up with just for the JRSC. It's preprogrammed and at 10psi puts 200hp and 160lb/ft of tq.
http://hondata.com/jrsc_big_boost.html
Here is the only bad side $1300 for Hondata.
http://www.mossperformance.com...35973
But even at $1300 I think it is a pretty decent kit. It includes s200 Hondata, Injectors and all the software is preprogrammed
It sounds like a pretty good deal What do you think?

Yea that sounds like a good deal.
You can also add the nitrous option which would be really cool on a SC.
The reason it is more expensive is the Hondata ECU will be socketed for OBD2.
Also check out http://www.Wiredspeed.com good deals on Hondata and Injectors.

Re: (JICEK9)
You then just buy Hondata for OBD1 and injectors w/obd2 clips. I would have custom tune made for it. You could contact Payn Technologies there are located in Michigan. This would most likely be a better route to take. Since it would be tuned to you car. It might also be cheaper. The results will be lower since he uses a Mustang Dyno which is usually 15% lower then Dynojet. But it is said to provide a better tune.
