Z10 makes a 5 bolt cap girdle opposed to the standard 3 cap which MIGHT make sense if you were going for unseen high hp numbers.

Well, i'm not too worried about the 5bolt obviously, just seeing if it makes any sense to go w/ the z10 over the machined gsr. I'm sure i'll just stick with the gsr.

I'm just wondering why you feel you need a girdle. Lisa Kubo always made over 600 without a girdle on her LS.

Go with the ERL girdle. You wont be dissapointed, its a great piece that covers all 5 mains. I made a tech post about it some time back.....but of course it goes missing for some unknown reason.

I bet if Bensons sold a girdle then Earl would have responded differently
The sad fact is that EVERY B series honda mains move around, especially after sleeving. Its a good idea to have one installed, only if its installed properly. Dont waste your money on 3 main girdle's....whats the point

That is the thing about Benson, he won't try to sell you a service that is not necessary to your build. If you guys learned how to install sleeves without screwing up the integrity of the block, you wouldn't need to sell people align bores and girdles to fix your sleeve job.
There are no "sad facts" after Benson sleeves a block.
I would appreciate it if you would quit making these posts personal and I will do the same.

If you look around you you will see that everyone knows where the best sleeve jobs are at. Ask Larry from Endyne, or how about the whole Full Race crew.......should I continue? Screw blocks up...oooook.
I could go on and on. To say that a block wont be helped by having the mains straightened is just plain stupid. If you've done your homework (like ERL has well before they offered their services) you would know that even stock unmolested blocks can benefit.

Im sure this will get locked up or deleted just as every other ERL thread does. Wow, politics at work.

I told you not to make it personal. You might want to call me this morning.

Earl, i know you and Dan go back and forth about this alot, but personally i dont see how you can say these blocks couldnt at least benefit from at least a hone. I have plenty of stock junkyard blocks that needed some love down there, and these were under 100k motors that werent beat on. So, if they are out of whack in the first place, how is your sleeving supposed to rectify this?

Im not trying to get too off topic, but this statement bothers me:

"If you guys learned how to install sleeves without screwing up the integrity of the block, you wouldn't need to sell people align bores and girdles to fix your sleeve job"

I doubt that the company that has their blocks in some of the fastest honda's in the country is "screwing up the integrity of the block". I think you should have a little respect for ERL, who def. has the best process out there from start to finish. Im saying this because i have been selling this **** for 7 years now, and have sold everything, but benson. So i wont compare them to benson, but i can tell you they walk all over everyone else's sleeving.

Dan had a good point when he mentioned Full-Race and Endyn will only do their blocks through ERL now. I think we both know there is a good reason for this....At their stage of the game, cost isnt the issue, quality is.

Oh and back on topic, the ERL girdle is a very nice piece, and for the price it includes the install(doweling, main hone....)
