Default yah another oil pressure ?

i have about 400 miles on the new build

d16z6 with a toga hv oil pump

at startup i have pretty hihg oil pressure.. once the car warms up 190-200ish

it gets low..

at idle its like 10-15 give or take

and at wot 65-70

when its starting to warm up i have 80psi all day long but once i get to 180 deg it just gets low..

is this cause maybe my bearing clearences are big?? or what im running 10W30 cheap **** to break it in.. tuning this sat gonna put some Amsoil in it what weight shoudl i run to help my pressure>? and is my pressure ok?

When I was running 10-W30 I would idle at 10-15psi. Swapped to 10-W40 and got it up to a steady 20psi. It idled much better too.

i know it isnt a gm, but the general says 10psi for every 1000 rpms, so idle at 750, 7psi is considered normal. are you running race bearings? where the clearances? thou? thou and a half? 2thou? the looser the lower.

It depends on how hot it gets there in the summer. You will want a thicker oil if it gets hot and a thinner oil when its cold outside. You could go with a 10w-40 or a 20-50. If you go with the heavier oil and it gets cold outside make sure you let the car run and idle for a while before you go smash on it....

Ya I was talking more about the OP. Your probably sounds like it might be a little bit more serious if its much lower. Not leaking any oil anywhere? Is everything stock or lsv?

Low on oil at all? If not, yes I would definitely check out your oil pump, What gauge are you using to check the oil pressure? Possible its off?

If it was a headgasket I would think you would be seeing smoke or a leak, so I highly doubt thats it. Eh just take out the gauge so you never have to think about it
