xs power turbo
I bought an xs power turbo on ebay, and I was wondering how reliable it is. It is a T3, it has an xs power stamp cast into the compressor side
Just curious

Lol. You really should have done a search before you plopped down $200+ on that turbo.
Search for:
Xs-power
ssautochrome
ssac
stone racing

Re: xs power turbo (slow poke)
I've seen the picture, my turbo doesn't even look like that. That picture is of a T3T4. Mine is a T3. It doesn't look cheap. And do any of you have real proof. I searched and all I found was a bunch a bashing and no facts or proof. That's like saying. "Penzoil sux, I use Castrol GTX!" (Not True!!!) Just because some one says something doesn't mean it is true. If I say, "it's chocolate." You take a bit and it's realy ****. You're going to tell me that it's ****. That's proof. I need that. If I bought a $265 piece of ****, I want some proof, not bashing.
Thanx

you should have known you would get answers like that on here.
how about you do some type of write up documenting the type of turbo you have, problems if any and a milage and performance report.
maybe YOU can be the one who takes a bite and tastes chocolate, not poop!

Re: (mrbsponge)
That's is what I'll do. I also have a turbo mani from ss autochrome, wastegate, and intercooler. The intercooler is designed very well. The exhaust mani has some bracing on it. All of this stuff has been used before with a T3T4 ssac turbo. The boy ran 10 psi on stock internals in a ZC. The bolts backed out of the exhaust side of the turbo, and caused the seal to go bad. He ran it for six months before that happend. He lived in Little Rock, Arkansas, and he drove to St. Louis, Ohio on the weekends. That's a little over 800 miles one way. That's 41,600 miles just driving there and back on the weekends for six months. Not counting the driving that he did in town and to work. I'll keep everyone up dated on how this turbo works out for me.

Re:
I was considering buying the Xs-Power T3/T4 until i came across a better deal on a garrett t3...but in the future im sure i will upgrade to the xspower hybrid...i feel the same way as you...i dont care what other people say because most of the are just repeating what they heard about the company they have had no real experience...**** em.
i also have the xspower "new" style manifold..thing looks beatiful and quality.
i chose to go with the tial wastegate though.
please keep me informed on how the turbo works out...i would like to know.
haters that believe everything they read on HT

Re: Re: (Die-Laughing)
Well, I think 3000 miles and 41,600 miles is a 38,600 mile difference. The manifold I have came off of this car. I'm going to Virginia next weekend with my car so hopefuly I have worked out all the bugs by then. To anticipate the bolts coming out I removed them one by one and put lock tight on all of them. One at a time not all at once. I had to clock the turbo n e way, so I went ahead and put some prevent on a possible problem. The front mount IC is mounted and I'm working on my exhaust today. Waiting on the FMU to hit the door.

The XS Power turbo's make good power.
The biggest problem I can forsee for you is bad seals earlier than you would like for it to happen.
For preventative - use an inline filter of some kind. Give the snail a fair shot.
If all else fails, a rebuilt kit ain't too much $$$.
Congrats on the snail - dispite the brand having bad reviews you may have good results. Give it a try - I mean how many people REALLY post GOOD reviews of a product. Of course you're going to hear the bad. . .
Let us know how it turns out for ya.

Re: (DragSource)
I just pulled one off a 240sx i did with about 3000 miles. Had more endplay than most of the 20 year old T3s i get at the junkyard. The compressor housing appears to be in one piece though. There are some facts for ya

Want facts? My stone racing T25 had the turbine housing break in half when I tried to install the studs. I got a full refund, though.
And honestly, what do you expect from the question, "I bought an xs power turbo on ebay, and I was wondering how reliable it is."
Don't call us "haters" just because we told you the truth. I'm sorry you wasted your time. After the turbo breaks send it back for a refund.

Re: xs power turbo (civicdonwon)
resell it on ebay and then PM or call me up so you can buy a TRUE GARRETT T3. It's better that you spend the extra $100 or so on a true proven turbo/company.
hehe!!!
if you decide to use it good luck!!!!

I've heard of this happening several times. I don't know if it was your thread, can't remember, but there were pictures of the housing, and the cover up paint stuff flaked off and it looked like an epoxy glue holding it together. . . and like a tack weld ever inch and a half or so. That blew my mind. . .

Yeah people make up the stories about turbos breaking in half just for laughs.
HA-HA
These are extremely high quality products. That's why they sell for such low prices.
If it's too good to be true, it's probably true right? Isn't that how the saying goes?
to logic & reason
