WTF: whats wrong w/ my car!!
i have had a CEL on since i put my turbo on. i used the blue box that came w/ the greddy kti and put it on my 6th gen like everyone else w/ 6th gens do. so i thought it was the box so when my FMU, missing link bypass valve, and fuel pump came i went to put them on. after i put the check valve and FMU on i wanted to start the car and see whats up, sweet no CEL hit the gas and the car stalls!!!!!!!!WTF. WHATS WRONG HERE also how do i relieve the fuel to put the pump in i need to know where the electrical connector is on my 97
doent matter if its boosting or not.... let me guess.... it will start and idle just fine.... as soon as you rev it will bog a little, then shut off..... i had same problem..... its probably the o ring for the map sensor.... at least that was my problem... check that
dude yah the o ring!!! it came w/ 2 i i didnt know if i had to replace the roiginal. so i left off the one that came w/ it. i tried putting it onw/ the stock oring, then w/ replaceing the stock ring. so how does it go? i dont want to take it off to much more cause the srew heads are starting to get stripped cause i thought it had to be on tight. help!!
have u tried to put both o-rings on yet, and see if you can get it as tight as you can? make sure there is no leaking, and u should be good, right???...
Adam , i already tried that and then i tried putting the propanetorch on it while it was running yo see if it would idle higher and it didn't. i know it's the MAP sensor, but does anyone know if the check valve itself could be defective? i bought it from importparts.com for 59.99.

yah if i put the map sensor on and tighten it down i'm sure it will work fine , but i cant drive around like that, it will read boost and the car will stop, thats what the check valve is for. i also tried it w/o anything,, why? i dont know that was dumb, cause basically fuel poored out my exhasut sweet right? no
If your check valve is the one that you buy at your local parts store, try to turn it around. The check valve have a direction of the air flow. It happen to me and symtoms are like yours.
i'll try but i think i'll have the same effect, how would i know if i broke the MAP itself? also i have the stock and the check valve o-ring on top of each other on the bottom cause from the directions that is what it sounds like i gotta do

how bout this, when i put the valve on i still had the blue box from the greddy kit on, i started the car to see if it worked the same time the box was on. the box somehow tricks the MAP into not seeing pressure so w/ the check valve maybe i fried something? i don't know. i think i might even try putting the blue box back on and take off the check valve and the FMU. anyone else?
