Default WTF!!! talk about boost creep!

Right i've had my external on for a few weeks and its been fine or so i thought!
You can hear it start to open at .5 and the boost rises to .6 and holds steady.
Put my manual boost controller on today but the boost would not go above 0.6 on my afc but the wastegate was not opening. Borrowed my mates greedy boost gauge and it was flying up to around a bar with the wastegate not even opening but the afc is only reading 0.6.
Put it back to how it was (No MBC) and checked it, wastegate opens at .5 holds .6 then when the vtec comes in it starts climbing up to 0.9 at red line.

Whats going on? Why is it creeping so much and why will the afc only read upto 0.6??

I know all about the AFC hack and its going as soon as my new ecu turns up!

What manifold are you using that where is your vacuum source for your wastegate coming from? Make sure you are using the side port as I see it's a tial "style". Just trying to help as it helps to get the simple silly things out of the way.

The manifold is pretty custom, its equal length with the wastegate take off on the part where all four runner come to one.
Im sure its right, the pressure source is from the turbo housing to the side hole. The top is just left open.

well what kinda manifold. somethign tells me ssautocrhome. and so is teh WG.

change the WG sping inside and that MIGHT solve it so i've heard.

as for the bosot controller make sure you install it right. there is a right way to install it and a wrong way . the side you twist down is usually the side that goes to the wastegate and the opposite side of where you twist down ( where the ball bearing is) goes to the intake manifold or pressure source.

Yeah it started off life as the ssac but its completly different at the bottom, its sort of half ssac - half crispydee. looks good and has not cracked!
The controller is deffinately installed right but even with it taken off it creeps from 0.6-.9 in vtec.
My wastegate spring is green, not sure what rating that is? anyone? It was meant to be 5.4psi but i dont think it is as it does not open to 0.5 bar

AFC is reading off the MAP sensor which only reads to about 10-11psi. get a real fulltime boost guage to be safe.

Yeah but if it went over that the CEL should come on.

it should, either way you can't use the AFC to read boost. Get a boost gauge.

This is what im thinking.

I have just been looking up the spring rates. Are the tial reps (SSAC/Stone) the same colour code as tials? ive got a green one Not sure if its big or small. I think its the small one.

honda map sensor only reads up to 0.75 bar. if you see more than that you have something fucked up in your wiring etc....

what do you have for management? if the ecu is chipped then it wont throw a cel if boost goes too high, if you have a afc hack setup wrong it wont throw a cel in that case either.

At the moment im running the hack with a stock ecu. Its had the cel on before when it ran 11 psi on the internal wastegate, so it must all be right.

I've checked with my mate whos the greedy gauge is and he says it reads the same as his Eboost so its not that playng up.

dumb question but you don't have an internal WG on that super 60 and an external WG on the manifold do you?

Not such a dumb question!!! Some idiot sent me the wrong 5 hole flange so ive not got my new down pipe on yet. The internal gate is tack welded shut until the new flange is sorted. Could this be the problem?
