Well it turns out i need to replace my headgasket in my b16....anyways i was thinking about running an inline pro 3mm headgasket and turning up the boost
Yes i know there are better ways to run more boost but i dont' feel like spending that money on the car...yet
Anyways i'd like to run 14-15 psi on race gas (110oct), i would be running hondata s100 and 550cc injectors, I know its hard to say but should it be ok if tuned well??? Also i know i need cam gears with teh headgasket but do i need anything else? i heard new studs?

You will need a new block after you crack the sh*t out of the cylinders and throw a rod threw the side of the block running 15 psi. Good luck man.

thats crap!! i ran a stock b16/3mm gasket setup for 1 year at 1 bar daily!! the only thing i had was an afc, 370's, a 12:1 fmu and a 255 in tank pump. my car never saw the dyno and was only street tuned with the afc and ran like a champ. the only reason why its not still in the car was i wanted to run bigger bore. hell, my car even saw up to 24psi on race gas without a problem!!

Sorry man, but I'm not buying the 24 psi thing. That motor is tough and everything, but thats just rediculous. You got very lucky if you ran 15 psi daily on a stock motor. VERY LUCKY especially with no tuning.

i only plan to run 1 bar at the track/races...As for those saying i'll blow the engine, i thought the whole point of the thicker headgasket was to be able to run more boost with stock internals? keep in mind this is gonna be tuned with hondata and on race gas...and prolly only see 15psi a few times a week
the car is not daily driven either

Being well tuned with Hondata and only seeing 15 psi a few times a week would probably be ok, but 15 psi daily is just asking for it. I guess I'm just not into blowing my motor up.

ignorance is bliss....... run the headgasket man.... just make usre u have enough fuel and ull be fine
also boost depends on turbine size...... if u are running like a td05 on a b16 at 30 psi u will have the same amount of power as a .54 trim t3/to4e at 21 psi

you can call BS if you like but i can name at least 4 users on this board that have run that much boost on stock b series motors and run what i have run daily also. it can be done and done quite easily with the proper fuling. some of the disbelieving users on this board should come to NOVA and see how cheaply we make a fast car!

not as long as he pays for his fuel management...
but in any case .. it probably wont blow!

you do realize that power is a function of compression AND boost, so that lower compression with more boost can possibly yield less power than higher compression and lower boost if the effective compression is lower in the first case, right?
In any case, you can certainly run 15psi on a stock bottom end, it's just a matter of proper tuning. boosteded9 recently proved that the upper limit of the d16 bottom end is around 20psi (after running 16psi for a while).

to the people doubting the head gasket, im no trying to get into a pissing contest with u again, I dont ave the time and th only thing that will happen is I will win

correct...... mostly peopl like to brag about how much boos they run and what not.. but the benefit of this headgasket is u have leway in the "trouble zone"
