Would This Work?
Hey wuz up my fellow HT community members. I have a 98 integra LS and I was planning on boosting it without VTEC. But last night I ran into a turbo GSR and that thing just turned me on to VTEC Turbo. I wa hearing bad things about it at first but after hearing how loud that thing was and how out of this world fast it was I changed my mind completely. My question is 1 I know some with a Teg with a B16 in it is that stupid or smart and my second question is should I go B18C1 or B16 if the B16 would be a good idea. and which would be better to boost and why?

it'll be slower than a stock ls
if you really want vtec, do an lsvtec

Thanks you guys for all of the input. I think lsvtec is the way that I am going to go. I did my research and what you guys are saying hits it right on the head

or, if youre planning on boosting your ls, just buy a bare b20 block from someone and crap $1000 on eagle rods, cp pistons, a block guard and arp rod bolts. b16's are for hatchs because you dont need that much torque to move em, to have your teggy push you back in your seat; youre gonna need at least 1.8, but id reco 2.0

Re: (zeimbo)
sleeve design of the b20's is ****... rock a stock ls or get it sleeved to go 84mm.. i've seen too many b20 motors crack sleeves, even na motors running high compression

you are saying one lack less torque however you are failing to see you can comparing one with larger displacement and another with smaller displacement, that is going to happen
b16 are more of a OEM factory performance geared motor thus the reason it will make simular numbers at the same levels

Re: Would This Work? (b18sihatch)
wtf did you just say?
an ls will make higher numbers than a b16 just due to sheer displacement, and more torque due to the stroke of the motor
