LS = Great For Turbo
B16 = Great For High Reving, Torqless
I love the B16, becuase you got that DOHC VTEC, that just screams on those engine, But then agian LS Turbo is very nice, u can get LS/VTEC they both are good engines to go with, becuase u have a DX and it's not wired for VTEC a LS swap might be a bit easyer.

b16, vtec is fun too
seriously... how much money are you putting into it? are you in for the long haul or just to have some fun? are you going to be doing the swap yourself?

Turboooooooo LS
If I could go back I woulda bought a dx instead of my ex and slapped in a turbo ls for the cost of my gsr motor

ls for sure **** spending all that money on a b16 when you could just buy a cheap d16z6 and built it up for next to nothing and be making the same power or more. It all really depends on what your goals are. If you are gonna go all out and built the motor or if you just want boltons. If you just want a bolton engine then I would save your money and built up a sohc vtec rather than spending all that money on a b16. If you were are going all out on a motor though then you probably have enough money for a b18c1, h22, or a b18c5, ls turbo which would all be much better platforms. Just my .02

Re: (EF9_SiR)
I have an LS in my eg hatch, and I must say I'm not liking it thus far. Mine has a GSR tranny, and its allot more peppy then my stock motor, but against my friend's B16 EF, I take him from 1st and 2nd, but then he just roars past me.
If I had to do it again, I would have saved my money and got a c1 or atleast a b16.
I'm having trouble deciding what to do with my LS, dont know if I should keep it, add boost or vtec or swap it out for a c5 or atleast a c1. My car's gonna be used for circuit so i dont think boost will be very good, and I dont trsut the ls/vtec for it either, too much stress, so I may end up selling it.
But to answer your question, if those are the only 2 choices I say B16

Re: (chad)
Ya but I'm worried about the amount of stress I will be putting on it, plus I dont have the money to build it full out.
Think it would last without new pistons or rods?

Re: (Sassafrass)
how much is a b18b, where can you get one (because i can find b18c, b16a, h22a and k20 everywhere, but i can NEVER find a b18b), and how much is a turbo for one?

LS for sure!!! the tourqe will make you more happy. LS w/B16 or ITR tranny will get the job done, and you don't have to rev the **** out of it to make power! b20 even they are inexpencive also with more tq

rods, pistons, new bearings, oil pump, water pump, arp rod bolts and head studs. that should be plenty reliable.

I chose LS....and I am happy I beat and lose to Si's all the time..its a toss up if you compare the two everytime. I didnt' choose the b16a because it doesn't wake up until 6,000k on the cluster. To me i needed the low end punch and to solve my lack of top end umph..i am boosting . And as much as the b16a loves boost...many people have had reliability issues on a stock bottom end. All of the boosted b16 drivers around here have blown their motor atleast once. A total of 4 around here. All of them fried their pistons.
