Default Would Split in Exhaust Cause low boost?

Hey guys,

I've smacked my downpipe off a kerb resulting in the flexi pipe joint to split, since then it's only seeing 5psi

It holds steady at 5psi and only goes up to 10 when you really get up to high revs. It used to boost alot quicker, max boost is set to 14psi.

So i wondered if the split in the exhaust would cause it to lose so much pressure?

I've got no cel's, all couplers are good and have no leaks.

Thanks

anything after the turbo wouldnt matter. However, maybe it broke something else. Such as the manifold or wastegate.

x2. Did you hit the curb hard enough that it pushed the downpipe into the manifold possibly cracking your exhaust mani?

Thanks for the reply, no i didn't hit it that hard, just the cars low and it split the flexi pipe.

I heat wrapped the manifold yesterday and never noticed any cracks. If it's hold 5 psi nicely but not hitting maximum boost could this be a faulty / broken wastegate? The dumptube is still screaming when i hit boost.

I've recently fitted a catch can with a breather running a pipe from the back of the block and valve cover to the catch can. Other than that i can't think why it's playing up?

I checked compression and all was good, checked i.c pipes and couplers, fuel pressure is fine and no cels hence why i thought it could be the exhaust, can't be if like you say it's after the turbo so doesn't matter.

Thanks again.

I would start the car when it is cold and run your hand around everything on the manifold see if it has a leak. Also check charge pipes may bumped one and tore a coupler a little. Always heard off boost going higher not lower with exhaust leak. Best of luck, keep us posted.

Sorry didnt see you checked IC pipes

Swapped the wastegate spring today which made no difference. I did notice that small amounts of oil in my ic piping though!

I know the seals need replacing now but this wouldn't affect the amount of boost i can run would it?

Am thinking of checking my ecu (Hondata) to see if that pulls anything up.
