would spiking to 20lbs of boost on a stock map sensor break it??
I accidently spiked to 20lbs of boost on my stock map sensor and i was wondering if this would break it or any other sensor? The car seems to run the same as before but i want to be sure. How would i know if i broke the map?? Thanks

No it wouldnt. We're talking about the physical capacity of the sensor itself.

Sorry to bring this post back from the dead but, when you spiked to 20 what did the engine do? The stock MAP sensor will only read to 11 psi. so, Lately my car has been spiking past that (12-14 psi) and once 11 psi is supassed the car breaks up violently. It runs killer @ 3/4 throttle (10-11 psi.) but, If I go any farther it spikes and breaks up. So, the question is wil the MAP sensor be causing this break up?

it's probably just the cooler weather coming in..not sure how much of a difference in weather you have had lately...but it's starting to cool down nicely where I'm at, and I've seen my gauge show a spike up to 10psi while I have it set to 7psi

I just realized that I have my Boost cut @ 10.9 psi which would explain the break up
. My stupidity, sorry
