I wonder if my powerband and peak hp would like an upgraded ignition. Like MSD blaster coils or an ignition coil from Haltech (I run the e6k). Someone has before vs after dyno plot?
I am boosting 1.2 Bar and make 375whp daily. I use stock spark plug cap from NGK BCP plug, no ignition problems in each driving condition. I use stock spark plug wires too.
If I could make 20 peak hp more with an upgraded ignition I think it is worth the money, bucks/hp wise.

your make more power but not even close to 20hp. More like 2-3whp.
-You will notice that the car idles better
-starts up way faster
-better gas milage
-SMOOTHER power band

Also you will notice that hondas ignitors really dont like ignition boxes at all.
I used to kill ignitors all the time when i ran a msd 6AL, and now that i went back to a stock igniton, that i have ran 20psi on ,the car is so much more smoother through the whole powerband.

I tested the exact same scenario as you, only this car was running Hondata.
84mm GSR with 54 trim drag turbo kit - 17psi = 370whp with MSD 6a, msd cap, coil and msd wires. The car had a funny miss in the lower rpms we couldn't locate. So, we removed every msd component, replaced it with stock components (wires were NGK). Results? 17psi = 370whp - and NO LOW RPM MISS. The curve looked exactly the same, it was no smoother nor was it any rougher.
I stand by the fact that Honda ignition systems are PLENTY strong enough for big hp.

wow that's the first i've heard of honda ingiton being equal to MSD ingition. BTW what do you mean there was a MISS?
