Default ... worn rings... (n00bie question)... please advise...10q...

... i am blowing blue smoke... yeah, i know... sucks... anyways, everyone i talked to says that i have "worn rings"... which rings does this apply to?... piston rings?... oil rings?... are they the same?... different?... lemme know... thanks...

((to add to the n00bie-ness))

... what is the difference between valve seals and valve guides?... if anyone can comment or can point me in the right direction, i would really appreciate it... thanks...

well ble smoke is burning oil, white is coolant, and black is fuel(too rich)
I'm no expert but my best bet would be the piston rings.

valve seals are a little rubber seal that sits between head and the retainer, and the valve goes through the middle, it is there so no oil seeps into the combustion chamber.

Valve Guides is the metal sleeves that are in the head that your valves ride through

Do a compression test on teh cylinders. Valve seals are in the head. They slip around the top of the valve and stop oil from going past valves into the combustion chamber.
