Default wont boost over 10psi? help suggestions?

can someone please give suggestions on what my be wrong with my car.

i recently went to have it tuned and the car even with a 15 lb spring in my tial wastegate wont go over 10 psi.

if you turn the boost up via my digital apexi boost controler it will go to 10 then start dropping off boost. all the clamps seem fine on the piping and intercooler.

please give sugestions.

the tuner told me to take all pipes off inspect them along with intercooler to make sure no holes in it and make sure exhaust isnt clogged.

im open to sugestions from all. thanks.

You need a map sensor that will allow more boost. Stock will only take about 10-11psi. If your tuner doesn't even know that it's the map sensor then I wouldn't trust them.

What kind of turbo? Have you tried hooking up an MBC? Definitely check all piping and make sure it's all connected snug, or do a leak test.

MBC = Manual boost controller. I ask just in case you were running a really small turbo, T25 or something. They bleed off boost past 10 psi, but otherwise it shouldn't be an issue. Sounds like a boost leak somewhere, listen to these guys and check all vacuum lines, couplers, connections, and gaskets thoroughly.

the turbo i have is equvalent of a t60 or 61 . i ahve electronic boost controler apexi. i checked pipes today . nothing took off car. it boosts went to 15 today with duty cycle kinda high and whatnot. but u can tell it starts droping fast. i dont know this sucks.

this is what car has so everyone knows:

precision turbo, greddy type rs blow off valve, tial 38 mm wastegate, large sparco type intercooler, precision 880cc injectors, engine management is neptune, gm 3 bar map, msd ignition, 8mm wires if im right, ngk plugs, the head is port lil and decked, feerra racing valve larger at that, crower valve springs, crower cams, ross 8.5.1 pistons, cometic hp head gasket, type r water pump and oil pump, accel race bearings, eagle rods, clutchmasters strip/street clutch and lightened flywheel, im probably missing few things but that most it.

so please more suggestions anyone. and thanks again for everyones help.

yup!!

Ive ran 19psi before on stock mapsensor... OOPS!

sounds like a boostleak somewhere or like he said, an clogged exhaust.

Take the whole chargepipe kit and intercooler OFF and inspected it completely. Reinstall it and make sure to check couplers for holes.

Another thing, Check your BOV for boost leaks too.

goodluck

change the map sensor?

check for boost leaks, go buy a rubber cupling the will fit your turbo then cap it off with plastic cap and put tire inflant thing on top then camp that down to turbo , use a air hose to the inflant thing, spary some water around all the couplings, and after you have the boost up listen for air coming out - boostleaks

Is your car a sohc? I had the same problem with my car, I found that the a/r on my exhaust side was too big for what my engine could push out. I has a 18 psi tial spring. I lowered my t3/t04e hotside from .63a/r to .48 a/r. My cold side is .50 Now I can boost to 19 psi with no problem. I had some boost leaks too, but I made a boost leak detector, fixed all the leaks and still only 10 psi.
