Will i Hit 13's ? Info Inside, please help
thanks for clicking, ive never been to the track since ive been turboed, i just recently had my car tuned by jeff (boosted hybrid) great guy... im making 220 whp and i think 160tq at 9psi on my rev hard stage 2 kit, going to be on street tires, and was wondering if i can hit 13's? everything is tuned perfectly with hondata and the car feels great, just hoping i can get some good times, any help is apprecited ie what to launch at, what 60ft times to aim for ect ect, again thank you for your time
Traction will be the biggest issue. 238 whp was good for 13.20's when I had a JRSC, and it made a good bit less torque. If you can hook, you should run some mid 13's pretty easily. On street tires, 2.2 60's should get you in the 13's. Try launching at about 4000 and feathering the clutch a bit, then go from there.
What engine setup are you running? And in what kind of car? Weight and such could become a factor. Another thing to consider is: how good are you on a track? Me personally, i had no track experience before I ran a 14.3 on a car that I know can hit 13's. I mean hey, street driving and track driving are very different. My biggest problem was traction, as my 60' were terrible in the 2.7 sec range. That alone would have propelled me into the 13's. I had a 102 mph trapspeed, the same trapspeed that another civic took to a 13.7 et. I'm running nine lbs on a drag kit GSR, if that helps.
By the way, what did jeff charge for tuning? he quoted me $400 last I asked, not sure what that would include tho... It was and still is out of my budget for now (I have a life outside of Hondas too
).
If anything, just go for it. Go for it as best and fast you can!

Alright well here's what i did. Im using BeerBongs tune. It put down a little over 210whp on 10psi. I have a del sol SI and was running about a 1/4 tank. The weight reduction i did AND... (including the missing 3/4 tank of gas) was calculated to about 200lbs (off of darksol.com).
The car comes about 2414 w/AC i believe so i was at around 2250 (conservative). I weight 135 so it came out just under 2400lbs w/210whp.
I ran 8.5-8.75 psi (approx 190-195whp) at the track I ran 14.3@100.3mph w/ a 60' of 2.46.
Hope this helps you figure something out

another thing to keep in mind is your level of comfort with your newfound power. there's always a learning curve, especially with a drastic upgrade like a turbo. the way the car drives under racing conditions with a turbo, torque steer, etc. if you think you had to shift fast with a stock B16, wait till you see what a turbo will do to it
hella fast shifting required. just go and try your best, don't be dissapointed if you don't get into the 13's. it'll just mean that there is room for improvement. have fun and good luck

My suggestion to you is don't be disappointed after you run. I read h-t all day and see people running crazy good times. I was thinking **** when I got I should run low 12's being that I am putting down 306 at the wheels. My first run was a 15.6 b/c the car poped out of 1st gear and took me a few moments to relize what happend. I have greatly improved since that time and my first run. But it does take a lot of practice.
I grew up drag racing rwd cars/trucks and snowmobiles. Those cars/trucks were auto slap shift with big *** tires and I most of the time always hooked and ran good times. It takes some getting use to, to cut good times on FWD car. Hope that helps.
