Will this heat wrap work on DownPipe

Not likely.
What is the wrap made of? Unless it is a fiberglass weave it is likely inflammable at temperatures that an exhaust can reach.

if its fiberglass with aluminum foil on one side will it hold up? i wasnt too clear with what you meant...."Unless it is a fiberglass weave it is likely inflammable "..does this mean fiberglass is flammable at high temp?

I had the dei header wrap on my downpipe and it made a big difference. I was actually having problems with the heat of the dp burning oil b/c of the closness to the pan. I wrapped it and no more burnt oil. That stuff is made of fiberglass, and it not cheap I might add.

DEI stuff is the ****
You ca get it either through Summit or through Day Motorsports...
I'm using (All DEI stuff): Heat Sheaths for my throttle and overflow lines...Header wrap for my downpipe...Floor and Tunnel Sheild for my hood...and the cooltape stuff for my radiator hose...
Expensive...well sure, but money well spent!

what degree can those DEI wraps protect up to? My generic wrap only goes up to 500 degrees and im pretty sure the DP gets hotter than that. If i put it on, will it burn? What if i put 2 or 3 layers of it ?

DEI is rated at 2000°. If yours is only rated at 500° then it must have something that will disintegrate. I'm sure the fiberglass will be fine but the aluminum foil will melt at that temperature.
And I'm sorry for the confustion. Inflammable = flammable.

no problem, i was wondering what you meant, thanks but my wrap should be good for my exhaust under my gas tank right?

i think wrapping the DP wont have any effect on the turbine, the DP is away from the turbo, this will keep heat in the pipe and away from under your engine, and it will help protect the oil in the oil pan too

Yea that would catch fire and melt. You need 2000 degrees stuff. My EGT reads over 1300 degrees F at cruise.
