Default Will going from my ram to log really hurt?

Well I bought a half finished ramhorn manifold off someone here, just needs to be finished welded up, the flange welded on, and a WG hole cut and flange welded. I personally dont have access to a welder anymore since I lost my job. Im going to be using a t3/to4e 57 trim .63 AR garrett turbo on a b18b. Im looking for only about 250whp on a totally stock motor for now. Ill be having jeff evans (a local near me) tune my car as well. Would selling this ramhorn and just getting like a CC-FAB log really hurt performance that much? I can sell the ramhorn to a buddy of mine for what i paid, order a cc-fab mani and have a little left over still.

Just take what you have to a local welding shop, or exhaust shop, and they can finish it for you. And it will most likely cost less than the $250 that the cc-fab log would cost. Yes cc-fab makes really nice headers, but they are becoming backlogged as well. I would try and finish yours, because in the end you will be happier, and less time will have pasted. And you still have room to upgrade your turbo down the road.

i know they are not taking orders now, i was just using that as a reference. But with only aiming for 250whp would the power gains from a ramhorn even be that evident?

Spend less money and buy a a NSR-tech or spoolin performacne log (same thing basically)...You'll just have to run a little more boost to make up the lost power.

yes, i still need a downpipe and dump tube so i wil probably get it all at once. NSr says no longer taking orders at this time??? I see spoolin has a package deal for $575 though for a log and all the goodies that I will prob order.

Is the ram that much better though? I heard of the power gains, but im looking for 250whp max, probably wont be at that 24/7 because its a daily driver for now until i actually find another civic or integra. I see alot of people using them, but isnt it a little overkill to use a 600-1100 ramhorn on a little 250whp setup? The buddy of mine i would be selling it to is aiming for 400whp gsr right now and 600 down the road.

it wont hurt it and it probibly wont gain much but it will flow a lot better and probilby help with spooling faster. if your getting big downpipe too. but basically do what you want. your just using this for the perpose of a semi-fast car with a stock block. so depends on your bugdet and the look you want. and if you want a easy upgrade for down the road.

shorter runners more heat would be expanding across the turbine blades

exaust pulses reach the exaust housing at the same time with an equal length mani.. promoting sooner, quicker spool

no, with an equal length they reach the turbine housing sequentially but because it takes longer, the turbo will spool later, full-race did a test between a ramhorn (which is pretty close to equal length) and a log manifold, and the log spooled earlier but made less peak power.

also on jeff evans site they did a mani test, but i dont think they retuned after the log because it was a significant power loss.

I ended up going with a member on this site Ineedhelp who made me a mani, downpipe and dump tube for a good price.

so is there a certain power level when a ramhorn will make a big difference? I ask cuz I have a crp ramhorn gonna use on a stock ls, looking for 240-260 whp.

ehhh if you are revving the **** out of the motor it would make a difference, but from what i have seen its only on higher hp setups that the ramhorn really out does the log

I believe the F-R prostreet or ramhorn gained 60whp over LOG.

I just got my car tunned by Mr. Mase..
It was a ls with a 57 trin and ramhorn with 3 inch all around..

At 10 psi i only made 235, the reason why its low cause i didnt have a dump tube.. My Wastegate was shooting out bad air where my turbo sit..

235 whp and 215 of tq.. Thats not bad.. If i get a dump tube i will increase around 250-260..

Tunned on Honda-Data

If i remember correctly there was a 50 whp difference between the 2. A ram horn style manifold will give you a better flow with its EL runners, and you will make more power . A mini log or the "chuck norris" from cc-fab should be what you are looking for performance wise and $ wise
Good Luck
