???? get rid of it for a short ram????? keep this in mind.....turbo compressor >> intercooler >>> charge pipe >>> throttle body....CAI's are too big big for low boost apps. you will need to fabricate a charge pipe from throttle body to intercooler....and intercooler to the compressor......SEARCH

Using your short ram for intercooler piping may save you $12, go to JCwhitney and piece together your bends u need to complete your piping. Also if im not mistaken the question he asked want if he could use it for intercooler piping, i think he was meaning if he still retains it? WTF i dont know i read it 3 times and didnt understand. Either way pull your bumper off and you can jusge for yourself which bends u need. Enough said someone lock this for real.
I dont think he's asking about using it for intercooler piping because why woudl he say something about swapping to a short ram, I give up this post is retarded.

the reason your friend couldnt run a cai on his wrx was because the cai runs thru the same fender well that the intercooler piping goes thru. its not the same on a honda. you can run a cai on a turbo car but not the wrx with a front mount.

Actually, I just installed a CAI on a WRX w/FMIC. He's running a VF30 with the APS FMIC. You just have to carefully shoehorn the silicon connector thru the fenderhole and use a smaller/thinner K&N cone filter in the fenderwell.
Boost response picked up noticeably in the mid/high rpm range.

you can fab it up to work i guess. most of the kits usually require you to go with their short ram intake or the provide a short ram with the kit. i was more or less giving the guy an idea of why his buddy said he cant run a cai on his wrx.
this is ****** great,, the kid was asking if he could run a cai to the inlet on his turbo,,,, what didnt anybody get here? why the **** would he rig the aem up on his **** if he "just bought a turbo kit" for his 99 si?????? shut this **** down...........haha
