Default will it cool enough?

i have a b16a2 and planning to run 9 psi and my intercooler is a treadstone 22x8x3.5'' Now my question is if i install the intercooler in the lower grill and the pipes clearing the fog lights housing on the bottom without cuting any part of the bumper, will the intercooler cool enough? I heard that more the air your intercooler gets, cooler the air and is and more power it produce..? would that means that to obtain the maximum power possible i would have to expose the entire intercooler? im just kind of confused because i dont really know these things.. im also wondering does most of the air pass on the bottom of the intercooler since the pipe are attaching on the bottom or im totally wrong and the air divide equally through the fins ?.. thanks

Yes it will be fine. I made 500hp on a smaller intercooler than that. But... cooler air = more HP. The better the intercooler, the better the airflow, the more efficient it will run creating more power. You dont need to have the entire part exposed. A good intercooler will divide air more equally but not perfect. Just bolt it on and boost, you'll be happy. With your set up it's not worth buying another

My intercooler is out of an Evo. It's so damn big, I think it's actually hurting. It's blocking airflow to the radiator and the engine temp is higher than it should be even with an aluminum radiator. Eventually I might change it out for a smaller, more efficient unit.

Some kind of heat resistant coating or wrap might be a good idea as well. Especially if your setup is like mine, with the turbine right up against the radiator. I'll probably be trying it in the future.

I don't have any definitive evidence such as before/after temperature readings, but there must be a reason why ceramic coated, cast iron, and heat wrapped components in turbo kits are so common.

EVO intercoolers are not too big. They are fine and as for blocking your radiator, you do realize that air flows through them right. it is the same thing as a radiator. Air flows through to cool what is in side them
