will a broken knock sensor disable VTEC?
I broke my knock sensor while swapping a D16y8 for a JDM D15B. the swap went really well except i broke the knock sensor. i had to put the D16 intake man on because i had an obd2 wiring harness and the D15 was obd1. it runs pretty good, but no VTEC. i am throwing 2 codes, knock sensor, and crank sensor. My question is will either of those cause the VTEC not to work?

Re: will a broken knock sensor disable VTEC? (komat)
thank you for the fast answer. i read about a way to bypass the knock sensor using a piezo transducer from radio shack. after i take care of that code i will try to figure out something with the crank sensor. thanks again.

Nope</TD></TR></TABLE>
Ran with no knock on my b16 for six months. VTEC engaged no problems.
