Default WHP overkill

I've read countless posts on turbos big, small & everywhere in between. My point is this; unless your a real track junky & you plan on really turning up the boost with a good set of slicks, It seems a bit much to have more than 300 whp @ the extreem for a street/strip set up. Hey, maybe I'm just missing it somewhere but I drove a GSR with 14 psi turbo set up & it was so easy to white-smoke the tires (G Force TA's) from just the acceleration even in second gear. Plus this car had all the goodies like suspension, motor mounts etc. Input? Thanls.

Ok?...

j/k. But there was a post about the practicality of having a high horsepower car for the streets a few days ago. General consensus is, we'll do whatever the **** we want.

what about racing cars that trap 115+... you need more than 300whp. 300whp is definitly not too much.

Its not too much for an integra because its heavy. Im shooting for 375hp and im really not too concerned about the traction because I get plenty now. Ive noticed that when the rear springs compress under acceleration, the front lifts and the tires spin a little. But its nothing some better tires, stiffer rear springs and an LSD couldnt fix.

anything over 350whp is useless on the street....

you will not have traction wiht any kind of normal street tire past that

but it's nicfe to have boost controller and just turn it up at the strip

I agree. I'm shooting for about the same on pump gas, mid 400's on race gas. I can burn the tires at will(Azenis)in 1st, 2nd. My BFG DR's only spin a little in 1st, or 2nd if it's really cold outside.

Fast FWD cars in general aren't the stoplight killers that a big V8 rear drive old school hot-rod on Mickey's can be. But they are quite enjoyable once moving, kinda like big single Supra's. The rush of hitting boost at higher speeds is
