considering boosting this engine so i decided to search here for some related info. seems like poeple who are boosting there sohc's are only boosting mini me's and d16's. id just like to bbost this motor for ***** and giggles, and to say i did it. planning on an FMU(shuddap) inline pumpand i guess an intank as well., and thats as far as i got. stock injectors? what fuel preassure? map sensor? run a catch can, or vent to atmosphere? only looking to get 2-250 whp out of it, maybe run low 14s or better. prolly a smaller t3 turbo. internally gated? wanna stay as stock and cheep as possible. maybe somebody can link me to a good thread or site with decent info on this motor, under boost.

 

I know I know....ditch the FMU and run Uberdata, its just as cheap but way better. For your power goals all you would need to go with is Uberdata and some 310 injectors. Stock fuel pressure, stock map, and stock fuel pump. This is what I did on my first setup and netted me 200whp and high 13's on slicks. So go ahead and rock that small T3 with an internal gate and be on your happy way to boosting. FYI...once you get to 200whp and 13's, you'll want 300whp and 12's. I know I did

are you sure uberdata will be cheaper than an FMU? id have to get it tuned with uber, and i have never tuned before and to be honest that scares me.

and why is that? is the d15 head that restrictive?

 

no, it will blowup because of the timing advance of the stock ecu and the lack of fuel from the fmu. uberdata/crome is cheap and works GREAT. pm me back man, we'll talk seriously about all this

 

People have made 250 on a super good tune....but I wouldnt trust the d15's rods for too long at those levels. Yes youd have to go somewhere to get your Uberdata tuned(if not learn yourself) but on a turbo setup....its all in the tune bro.
