Default WHITE SMOKE!!!!

Intermittent white smoke out of tailpipe... could it be a blown head gasket? Is there a way to tell? It's not always smoking. Only once in a while. Car runs fine... not boosting until I find out whats wrong. Overheating also. Will this cause damage to engine if not corrected ASAP? What about temporary repairs... like a can of block seal that is poured in the radiator and cycled through the engine to seal any leaks? Any opinions? Experiences? Solutions?! Thanks! 1993 LS Turbo, Stock B18A

no coolant lines running through the turbo... just oil lines. wouldn't that cause blue smoke if it was oil burning? hmm...

White smoke = coolant.
Especially with your overheating symptom, it looks like a head gasket problem. Just had mine let go, so I know the smoke. Have a leak down test done to be sure.

do a compression test first, then do a leakdown test...if your head gasket were cracked, it would probably be a lot more smoke than you describe, but it still sounds like that may be the culprit, so do the tests
