smoke :(
since i installed my turbo smoke has been coming out of my exhaust, i am yet to determine if its white or blue... its mostly white, and we suspect a blown headgasket but theres not leaking into the engine from what we can see, but there is moisture build up in my exhaust, I also noticed that the oil level has been decreasing a little bit. I think it might be the seals on the turbo, but i dont know for sure, anyone else have the same problem? any suggestions? thanks

yeah it sounds like a head gasket, see if what is coming out of you tail pipe is steam or exhaust smoke....
if its steam it will leave your hand moist.
hope you get it figured out!

Re: smoke :( (rjardy)
I seem to have the same problem. My coolent level hasnt dropped, and the white smoke only comes out of my exhaust occasionally. It seems certain days it will, and others it wont. I just "f" with the afc for a while the smoke goes away, I then go thru a series of check engine lights, but after that ordeal is done, the cars runs great! I may just be telling myself these things so that I dont have to go thru the reality of knowing i blew my headgasket within a month of the turbo, but screw it! Mine-as-well buy a new enigne!

I had the same problem, and i think it is due to oil pressure being too high and maybe blowing by the turbo seals??? Well switched to thicker oil and problems hasn't reoccured. I also checked compression, radiator, and checked intake/intercooler for oil, none. There was talk of oil restrictors a while back, but never could find one for my app.

You should do a compression test and a leak down.
As far as intermittent smoke coming from the exhuast, that sounds alot like bad turbo seals. If the seals are ok, it could be too much oil in the system, it'll seap past the seals if that is so.

Re: smoke :( (X2BOARD)
yeah, its been smoking since the night i put it on, and theres no way my motor is THAT *****. it smokes white really bad, and a little blue so i suspect a blown headgasket and/or turbo seals... but then again we put in some 5W-20 10W-30 and 15W-40 oils 5 qt's at first... i dont know for sure... my car has been running for more than one week now and it hasnt overheated or anything just smoked a lot.... i dont know what to do for sure, but i hardly have the time to change the damn headgasket
my car is actually working extremely good... theres very little detonation, or backfiring... and i just hooked my exhaust up so its not a tractor anymore
