hello,
i am planning on sending my block to earl benson.its a b16a1.
i want:
Benson sleeved block
Benson balanced and micropolished crank
CP pistons and rings
Pauter rods
ACL bearings
OEM oil and water pump
Lower gasket set
Blueprint and assembly
cilinderhead:
supertech valvetrain
arp head studs
flowed head
crower cams
3 inch exhaust 3 inch downpipe
home made manifold ramhorn
victor X
dumpvalve
big brakes
the tuning is done by INTER_TUNING belgium
they are going to tuned it with the aem ems system
visit them http://www.inter-tuning.com
my question is:
what turbo should i pick?
i was thinking about a GT3071?
could you guys give my some advise?
I know it is gonna cost some money, but i have been saving allot
the engine comes in a honda crx '91 ee8
i was thinking about a excedy clutch and a quaife differential to get the hp numbers to the ground!
sorry about my bad englisch typing but i am from belgium.
thx and greats
bjorn
P.S. in beglium there are legal dragraces, tips are suggestions are welcom

What is your desired hp?? Will this be daily driven or just a drag car?
ps - Don't worry about your english, there are many people born in this country with writing skils that pale in comparison to yours.

+400?? Are we talking 450, 500, 650........? 400 would be no problem with a benson/earl build block, even on the shitty a$$ pump gas that we get here in California. With that setup on race gas you can get quite a bit of hp, more than I will prolly ever want.
The GT3076R - 700382-12 will get you ~550hp just from a quick look @ the compressor map. So no matter what gas you run that will be where the compressor will become inefficient. Now 550hp is prolly more than you will ever need, but many like having this much power under the hood. You would have a very fast car with the mods that you listed and this turbo.
As far as spool goes, I really have no idea, maybe someone else will chime in on that subject. GL.

The gt28rs (disco potato) is a bit small for your hp goals. You shouldn't worry about to small or to large for the block, you should worry about your target hp and the strength of the components in the block (and with the benson/earl block, you will have the best money can buy). Then you pick a turbo that will support your hp goals, but will have the characteristics that you need, so you decide what you are willing to compromise and what you aren't. Spool, midrange, topend...ect.

Im sure the gt30R will give you just what you desire. I saw that you are looking into a exedy clutch, I would suggest a twin disc, it seems that many are using them and wouldn't use anything else. I have not had any xp with them though. You are also looking at an lsd, thats good. What you also need to do is get a good set of shocks/springs. Most will tell you to get the koni sports and ground control coilover combination, the best bang for the buck there. Deffinately some good motor mounts (many use hasport, pm "wantboost" he uses some mounts off of ebay and swears by them), good tires (I went with the goodyear f1 gs-d3 tires in 195/50/15). Maybe even a traction bar will be good for you, l-con and full-race are the ones that come to mind.
i already have the koni shocks
but you have different turbo's : gt3076R gt30r witch one is best?
and what about the gearbox? i am running the std 5 speed one B16?

from http://www.turbobygarrett.com there are three different variations of the gt30r. The one I posted earlier has the highest flow numbers.
The koni's are nice shocks, but make sure you get some springs to go with them. If you dont want coilovers then get some h&r race springs.
The b16 tranny will give you very good acceleration, just remember getting traction is always a problem with the FF cars.

you might want to check http://www.autoraceparts.com...they do aebs sleeves..benson sleeves are good but are not sleeved all the way to the top...and some time the sleeves have a tendency to float..just my opinion..and they have a good price on pistons and rods

a gt30r delivers an insane amount of power for the street, and the spool up time is very small, i would suggest that you use it =0
