Where to tap for water temp sensor?

Default Where to tap for water temp sensor?

i was thinking to drill into drain bolt in front of the block. another way is to t into stock location.. but what about tapping somewhere along hoses?

Mine is tapped into the upper radiator hose with a GReddy adapter. It's the blue thing in this pic:


I think it's either the 32 or 34mm one.

sounds like a good idea, but i don't want to spend 40-50 on something like that.. what else can i use in between radiator hose to accomplish same result.

Its ghetto but you could braze/weld a fitting to a piece of pipe, and use that like the greddy adapter pictured in blue.

I personally like the idea of finding a fitting to go where the drain bolt is in the front.

what sensor is it? I know that the sensor that comes with the Defi gauge will go into the stock location, that is where I have mine at and works fine

Put it in the front water neck on the head. On older B series there was a bleeder valve there. On newer ones its not tapped but partially drilled. Retapp it and its in a perfect location.

Where the bleeder valve is on the head on the front of the block.

Also where the top rad hose clamps onto the head.
