Cray91 from Homemadeturbo.com is from Minnesota...he can socket your ECU for you.

You could send it to me as well but he is closer.

Go to Elite Autosports they can do it for you.
And they can Dyno Tune your car too...well Shanes Hondata tuning stuff is broken right now and is being fixed right now by Hondata...

He doesn't want to pay the price that a shop charges.

That is why he is asking on here.

I ususally give good deals to local guys if they are willing to bring it by my house. Saves me time and money with shipping and stuff.

Hondata charges $65 for socketing with standard shipping and $75 for socketing with overnight shipping.

I chose to have my ECU socketed by Hondata because their price was in the ballpark of everyone elses, and everytime something goes wrong they say "check the solder connections." Well now I can tell them that they socketed it and if there is a problem they need to fix it.

yeah and if there is anything wrong they will tell you, ship it to us, at your expense.

If there is something wrong with mine, you call me and I say sure I will come fix it for ya. and then appoligize for making the mistake.

Can't really compare to local service.

I don't know how similar the socketing process is for Hondata and Uberdata but here's how I got my ECU socketed for Uberdata...

- Got on Yahoo Yellow Pages and found an electronics repair shop down the street from my house
- Called him and asked if he could do it for me
- Took it in and explained what I needed done
- Picked it up the next day!

He desoldered my board, soldered in the new stuff, and then tested all the joints and connections...

When I picked it up he said, "... it took me a little longer than I had anticipated to desolder those points so I'm going to have to charge you $25..."

Haha... I almost paid a local shop $85 to do it!

when I was at college without my soldering stuff I had a guy make me a data cable. I just gave him the instructions on paper. he didn't understand it, but he did it perfectly. Cost me $15 for the cable and soldering total. Gotta love small shops.

Yeah $85 is a rape job. The thing that sets ppl like me and xenocron apart is that we know what we are doing and we burn basemaps with the chipping services. Can't get that at a store anywhere. Not even shops at $85 are burning chips for ya.

Same socket. Hondata has this security box thing that they add so noone can "steal" their codes. Like anyone needs them with all the freeware stuff.

but yeah, same 28pin socket and other components.

I was too broke to have mine socketed at a dealer, so i decided to do it my self . It's really not too hard, just make sure to take your time and have the right tools on hand....just another option. Check out this thread, towards the bottom
