there's really no need for 2... we don't make enough power

So now you wanna tell my why the wind blows across the plains at different pressures? It's all at the same altitude, and it's all within the atmosphere...

Point is, air works like fluid. When it hits something, the force is greatest at the FIRST point of contact, then it starts backing up and making a receeding pressure wave. BOV near the TB is best because the air backs up there first, and should get blown off there first. This is what fluidynamic law states, and there's no way around the rules.

Again, the timeframe in this is SOOO minimal, it cannot be proven, and EITHER way works perfectly well, so...

WHO F'ING CARES?

than why is everyone getting so worked up over bov placement? it should be a personal prefrance that right?

not that we are getting worked up.... we are just curious as to whether or not one placement would work better than the other.

sure, it would work. if both have good vacuum sources there is no reason why it would not work. however, this may be detrimental to performance. because you are now letting a lot more air out of the pipes and thus the turbo has to refill the pipes with air again. but this is just my way of thinking, and i am probably wrong.

i hear it's best to place one as close to the TB as possible because it's the closing of the TB that ultimately causes compressor surge (what you're alleviating with a BOV) but i don't see any reason why placing it anywhere else in the piping (after the turbo of course) would make any difference.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead. This is the first I've heard of this. Good information.

I was looking at the Full-race intercoolers that they sell just yesterday, and I was wondering why they had 3 openings on the intercooler. Now I know why!
