Default Where to place flex pipe on a DP

I need help guys I need to know where everyone placed their flex pipe on their downpipe. Some pics would be great. Its just the last time a put on my flex pipe i put it to close to the flange of the DP and everytime i hit a bump it would crack my manifold so i just need help on postioning it so that it would give enough flex so that my new manifold doesn't crack

thanks

What about when running a cutout? What would be the ideal place?

why is it important for the DP to have a flex pipe? I don't have one on my greddy DP... but I'm hoping to redo it turbo back with bigger DP... get a flex pipe too??

i know that flex pipe is probably a better idea then running a straight pipe to the exhaust system... but how much better is it? is there any downside of running a drag downpipe to an apexi catback exhaust and no flex pipe? will i mess something up?

reason i ask is i think i have an exhaust leak coming from my downpipe where the it bolts onto the turbo.. thinking maybe i hit something and broke something loose cause there was no "flex" at all in the piping

Rev your engine at the throttle body and watch. The engine torques back. You need to have flex in the exhaust, or you eventually weaken and break pipes.

I welded my flex pipe directly to the front of my CarSound 3" Cat.
