I need a pusher fan real bad for my car now and I'm pretty broke. Whats the cheapest once I can get that will do the job. Its going on a turbo b16 running 6spi intercooled.

I got two from autozone (radiator fan and condensor fan), they were like $68 (12") a piece.

May I suggest that you buy a higher quality pusher fan like permacool sells(more cfm flow) to make up for the loss in efficiency inherent in using a pusher instead of a puller ..

Where would I get a nicer fan like you are suggesting? And how much would one run?

Hit the nail on the head. If your gonna spend the $, spend alittle (literally)more and buy a Permacool/Profoam one from Jegs. It flows like 300cfm more than the ones you buy from Autozone and OReilys (Hayden) at a lower amp draw.

This is what I'm running- these fans push even more cfm than permacool yo

25,000 cfm

BTW, what make you think that a puller is less efficient than a puller?

RedStarGSR - I did a writeup on mine not too long ago, though it's not on a stock rad. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=750219

Philo also did a writeup awhile ago, search in the Forced Induction Archives.

When their is direct resistance behind the fan (ie the condensor, or radiator) it makes the fan less efficient because it has to push air through this resistance, causing turbulance... A puller setup is more efficient because their isnt direct resistance behind the fan to cause turbulance in the airflow.. so the fan can more efficiently pull the air through without extra turbulance....

It is very well known that Switching a fan from a puller to a pusher will only be 80% as efficient.

Weird . . . that must be why we have so many mercedes at our shop running them (pusher), and they arent doing it for space. What you say makes sense, but I'm just wondering if you have any actual datalogs, or if it's just theory. I wouldnt think it would make a difference enough to notice at all.

I just assummed that it was common knowledge ... oh well...
Here is one source amoungst many directly from the larger manufacturer of fans ...

Re: Where to get pusher fan? (Turbo Chris)
I am going to buy one of the Summit or Jegs pushers. But I have two questions first. How do you attach the fan to the stock radiator? Do you just screw it into the fins? From the pictures, that's what it looks like, but that can't be right, can it? I have the same radiator as below, and I have no A/C, so I only need one on the passanger side, right? Or do I need two?

Thanks in advance.

Re: (slim9300)
I cant answer your A/C ? but regarding the mounting, think 4 zip ties. They dont look like conventional zip ties but they work the same way.
