Default When getting a OEM intake manifold port matched to headwork- should I leave the 2ndary butterfly val

I was talking to Javier at JG Engine about this, and he said he could just keep them permanently out. I thought that this would help flow more air at all times, but that it would also lower hp in the lower range. I am going to be using a P72 with the Hondata Stage 4b system, so I will be able to use the 2ndary runners.

What should I do? Just port it and leave them to function, or have them modified so that they are always open. Planning on running aobut 15-18 psi daily on a fully built bottom and fully done head. (Prelude H22a motor)

How much is porting/modifying going to cost because the Skunk2 mani is a good buy for boosted steert cars that are staying under 8500rpm.

Get an aftermarket intake manifold, or just take the butterflies out. It is true you will lose a little bottom end, but where do you race? The top end is more important, and what you lose in the bottom is minimal. I will be using a Golden Eagle intake manifold, (Formally know to be STR) and I am also using a P72 Hondata, but only with the 2b. I am still building, but I was going to go the same route as you before I got the GE intake. Another option is to use the Euro "R" intake. Kinda like an ITR intake. That Sun guy did it on his car, and it came out nice. Good luck.

Porting is going to be $175 total including removal of butterfly valves. I figured it really wouldn't hurt, and I was going to set my rev limiter to 8500 tops, but probably set my shift limit to 8000 for daily driving and switch for track use. The H22a doesn't really like to rev as high as you B series motors out there, but then again the B's don't have anywhere near the low-mid range torque that the H has either, so I guess I can afford to give up a little low end power.
