moroso oil pan
Doea anyone have a moroso oil pan on a b16? I just ordered mine and now I find out there is a stud kit for it. Can I use the stock bolts or do I have to buy the stud kit? The moroso oil pan has a 1/4in lip. I am running out of money, last month I ordered a Hondata 2b, Drag 3, RC 440s, the oil pan, a fuel pump, and a bunch of other ****. Then I blew a head gasket on the car I ordered everything for, I can't win for losing.

Re: moroso oil pan (92-94 civic hybrids)
Had the Moroso pan that was made for the D-series blocks...shouldn't differ too much in this case. It also has a 1/4" thick rim, but it came included with replacement studs/serrated nuts and bolts (the pick-up is usually the extra cost part...maybe that has changed). Anyway, I didn't use them, too lazy to take the factory studs out of the block. The stock stud/nuts and bolts worked fine for me (D16A6).

ok, thanks, I ordered the pickup to. I'm just trying to figure out the little stuff I need so I can get this thing done.

The reason they suggest getting new studs is because it is made for easier oil pan removal! In situations where you need to take it off alot! Factory uses Nuts and bolts and the Moroso studs use all nuts. I guess you can tourqe it alittle more that way. Hope this helps.

Re: moroso oil pan (redline)
Does anyone know if the pan they make for 3rd gen tegs will work on a b17a? Would part number MOR-20901 at summitracing.com work? What about the oil pickup at summit?

Re: moroso oil pan (dariusz)
Just some thoughts...
Did you replace the oil pan gasket? clean the mounting surfaces? torque the nuts to the proper specs?
Good luck... hopefully you'll get the problem resolved.

The stud kit are grade 8 studs and nuts, very good at torqing. On B series motor, note the flywheel cover could not be put back on anymore due to thicker pan. Make sure you have brand oil pan gasket. Torque the pan in cross pattern and not all at once. The instruction is in the helms manual. I think torque spec is 7.5 ft pound. Make sure you have the pick up as well.

Re: moroso oil pan ([Evo]Hybrid)
When i first bought my moroso oil pan. . it didn't come with the stud kit. .I found out after that it was supposed to . . I returned it and got the stud kit. The oil pan was little different too, less welding more bending. . COOL Good quality stuff. .
