i did my first heat cycle on junk oil, changed it out to normal oil ,drove it for 100 miles. then changed to synthetic and beat the **** out of it. and i changed it again at 500 miles. any engine builder told me basically your rings pretty much seat in the first 20 mins and to break it in the way your going to drive it

basic time line

crappy cheap oil(first heat cycle), normal oil(100miles), synthetic(500miles), synthetic(1000miles), and so on

and i ran royal purple, mobile sucks in hondas, thats just my personal feeling

^ he listens to the hype.

i only use mobil 1 not ever had an issue on many motors of many kinds, and it;s easy to get ahold of and cheaper any any otehr synthetic.

i waited till i had 900 mile son my motor befoer i switched over. why? synthetic is so godo that if you don't wait, it can keep the rings from seating properly. so ratehr than even chancing it, i waited till 900 miles then switched.

here's how i always do my motors.

ready to start motor. poor normal oil in.
start car run 1 min, turn off. check for leaks. if none found start up again and run for 20 min idle. shut down check for leaks. if none, then drain oil and change filter.

start up motor let run idel for 20 min to warm up. drive car 100 miles.
check for leaks if none, change oil and filter.

drive for 500 miles, change filter and oil again and check for leaks.

drive to 900-1000 miles. drail all oil allow to drip out for 1 hour. check for leaks on rest of car. change out filter and out in synthetic if car looks good.

your done.
